Because it's booze. It's a safe place to tax.

I get the sentiment…but the family that owns BF has a net worth of over 12 Billion. The company is otherwise doing fine. I’d say they are hardly taxed to death.

They have a license to print money. They should never complain.

That tax is just passed onto the consumer. Just an example of more taxation without representation. You should read Samuel Cooper's account of the Boston Tea Party and how our forefathers handled excess and abusive taxes.

True, but I think on somethíng like liquor it is cool if there needs to be taxes. The negative impact of alcohol on society, legal system, health care, lack of productivity, etc etc, are supposed to cost this country a few hundred billion annually. On the other hand, people like to drink. It's safe place to tax. It's a luxury. Those selling it are still making a fortune too.

society at large, it absolutely should be taxed more than orange juice or milk. People who consume alcohol at reasonable amounts and without major problems, which is probably 80-90% of consumers, understand this and bear the cost of this tax. People who don't consume alcohol aren't taxed.

Those that support open borders, zero deportations, and sanctuary cities should bear the brunt of those costs and pay substantially more tax than those that do not.

Those who support Trump's excessive spending for his luxuries and his golf trips and his military parades and all the other BS he wastes should have to bear the brunt of the tax burden, not those who think it's wasteful.

Otherwise know as “SIN” taxes. Society as a whole bears the costs of the poison they are legally allowed to sell so it makes sense they bear a cost for them. Same with cigarettes, really both should be banned but feds/states are addicted to revenue generated.
