Why didn't his opposition release them when they had Comey, Clapper, Brennan, Obama, Clinton, Stroke, and the rest of government under their total control? Not one of ypu can explain that. I bet there will still be crickets and as always his enemies underestimate and ridicule DJT. Whatever his reason it isn't because he is named in there. I think he has a big chip and he isn't ready to play it yet. Just a bunch. As always, if he is a pedo scumbag like the rest of the comprimised sellout. Let him hang, but castrate him first!

The Ghislaine Maxwell trial and sentencing did not end until late June in 2022.
I won't recite the litany of MAGAts that you surely recall bleating for the release of the Epstein Files, but why do you think, they now are refusing to do so?
The polling shows that even MAGAts want to know, what is Trump hiding.

I can explain that, and it's not hard at all. It's a concept called "mutually assured destruction" - the same phenomena that keeps people from nukes from using them on each other. You blow up my cities, I'll blow up yours. Both of us lose huge.
Epstein wasn't political. He was a power broker. He got to everybody he could touch - politicians, businessmen, celebrities. If you were big and important he'd do everything he could to get his hooks in you. It's a matter of record now the rooms in his properties were full of cameras...and he'd throw underaged girls at his guests, and if they were dumb enough to bite, all of a sudden he had a lifetime of leverage on them. You get caught on video with a 13-year-old girl...well, if that ever sees the light of day, it doesn't matter who you are, you're done.
We don't know what Epstein did with those tapes, or who he worked for. The source of his money is still a mystery. There's strong indications he was at least affiliated with Mossad, the Israeli intelligence service. But there's a very obvious way Jeffrey was making money, and that's blackmail...and with Epstein, seemingly everything was for sale. Including, almost certainly, his tapes. If you had deep enough pockets you could likely buy whatever you wanted on rivals.
We don't even know who the vast majority of Epstein's "guests" were. We do know of two presidents he had far more than casual links to - Trump, and Bill Clinton. Which gives you an idea who else he might have had - Senators, billionaires, foreign heads of state (I know Mohammed Bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, was a name that came up often. Leon Black, one of the more powerful names on Wall Street, is another.)
As you have mentioned, neither administration seems to have had a great deal of interest in ever seeing those tapes and those names go public. Which tells you everything about how big the fish Epstein had his hooks into really were...and how deep the rot really goes. It's actually more than a little depressing.
