Dear Jebus… Clemson couldn’t beat a Q4

As the number one seed in the NIT tournament… To say they were unfairly left out as ridiculous. The committee was 100% right to leave Brownell and his loser performance out of the tournament.

Yea not sure how NC State made it or if NC should have made it, but I felt certain Clemson should not have made it. If we could have possibly made a run in the NIT then I may say something different like maybe I was not giving the team enough credit, but that did not happen.

Im going to defend our team players, how many players on our team was thrilled about playing in the NIT after just getting shot down by the NCAA, and knowing they just played on the best Clemson team with the best ever ACC record regardless of how down anyone believes the ACC has been the last couple of years.
I've played team sports in my life time, and if my team had just played the best season in it's history, and to offer my team to play in a much less tournament, I wouldn't care about winning or playing in a lesser tournament, and I'm sure our team going into the NIT didn't care about playing in the NIT. I don't know, maybe they all wanted to win, but after just getting punched in the gut by being told they weren't good enough to play in the NCAA tournament, their hearts wasn't into playing a lesser tournament!!!!

That’s not what losers do.
And, again, we should NEVER accept an NIT bid. There is absolutely NOTHING to gain from it. You win it all, you’re not hanging a banner for it unless you’re a pathetic program. It’s a claim to the 65th best team in the nation at best. At worst, you lose in it and get called out publicly as losers.
Brownell competely failed to turn it into motivation in the NIT. Another lost opportunity. But we are a pathetic program for accepting the bid in the first place.

please add being "aggressive" and "proactive" about enhancing ACC revenue to compete with the SEC and Big Ten.

Change the ACC narrative? There may not be an ACC five years from now. Pardon me, but he's a bs artist.

Give me a break, Clemson nor UNC deserved a bid

The ACC was a bad basketball conference this year. Basketball rosters turn over in big ways every year so I have little concern about ACC basketball going forward. HOWEVER, I have major concerns about Clemson going forward playing FOOTBALL in the ACC.
Hey Jim, you need to be figuring out how to close the revenue gap between the ACC and SEC/Big 10 rather than bellyaching about two average basketball teams not making the NCAA Tournament.

My question is this.... What does it really matter if the ACC gets a TV deal that is even close to the SEC/Big 10? The ACC is a BB league. Football has had some great years, but nothing consistent. If this were really a football conference, Miami, fsu, and vt would still be prominent in the football world. They came in and crash/burn. How we have managed to gain and maintain prominence is amazing. (Don't say it, we're still relevant) At this point, I don't believe the problem is the money, it's the whole ideology of the conference

Jim is a good man...but the ACC need(ed) to worry about discrepancy in $$$ b/t leagues long ago. Its too late now. Even Dabo is telling everyone that....if you read between the lines.

And why wait until now to say something. We lost to Morehead State anyway. It is crazy that the Big gets so many teams but has had zero elite 8 for two years.

This is as pathetic as Brownell and Neff being crybabies about not making the tournament. ACC teams need to get good. And Clemson needs to Fire Brad!

One shocking thing to take from it, it's the first time in my lifetime I've ever seen the ACC office stick up for Clemson basketball.

They wouldn’t be except for the fact that UNC was left out too. You wouldn’t hear a word if UNC had made it.

This guy is a complete wet noodle who has been MIA since he took the job. I guess his PR guy told him it was maybe time to come out of the hole and tackle an issue before someone accused him of abandoning his job.
I think he may have been hiding in Biden's basement but that could be just a rumor...

passing us over this year. While it may have been a tough decision for them at the time, moving forward they know they can better trust NET ratings and not be fooled by inflated win numbers in deciding between bubble teams. Brad totally crushed whatever positive narrative may have been out there, and has set us up for zero benefit of the doubt in the future.
Hearing the commish say things like this now offers little faith that he has much substance to offer us in his role.

We didn't even have a watch party for the tournament announcement, though?
I searched like crazy figuring I'd eventually find it so I could make a trip for it, but it felt more like we didn't want to be there in the first place; if we're not willing to scream & shout for the team to get in, why should someone else like the commissioner?
Doesn't mean the NET isn't wonky or that picking the 68 teams isn't impossible to get right just by nature, but Brownell & a handful of fans & a few radio people seemed like the only ones campaigning for Clemson to get in & I'm not sure the commissioner joining in would have made a difference then or now, for that matter.
