FSU is not one of the four best teams without Travis, period.
Ohio State only got in with the third string that year because they beat Wisconsin by 40 in the Big10 title game. They needed to make a statement, they knew it, and they couldn't. It's a sad reality, but it is what it is. The committee did their job.

This will be an ongoing issue even in the expanded 12 team playoff. Someone is going to be left out that deserves to be in it. They set a precedent for that this year.

If Clemson can't get in from here on out with a 12 Team Playoff, then we don't deserve to be in.
BUT back to this year. FSU without their starter had zero chance of making their game against Michigan competitive(assuming they would fill the #4 spot).

Because FSU is us dude. Every year our programs chances of competing are diminished with ESPN and SEC/Big 10
And I know what this ultimately means for Clemson.

Palmetto….FSU is not and will never be us. Our CFP teams were much better than this year’s Florida State team. Not sure why people are equating to what just happened to possibly happening to Clemson. Clemson will not be in the ACC much longer. This has zero effect on Clemson. None. Everyone should be very happy for that.
FYI… The ACC has been over. Clemson and Florida State are already gone and there’s nothing that can be done to reverse that

In my opinion, the committee should have never had them ranked that high to begin with. I get their frustration given the committees most recent ranking.
However, this still has zero effect on Clemson going forward. As Dabo has said, we are in a great spot.

You are just dead wrong...on their best day Washington or Oregon could not lick FSUs boots...this is our fault as well...we were not ready to play football...Dabo disease...we should not lose in the ACC not to anyone...turnovers, spotty offense and a new $3mil coordinator killed us...Dabo spent too much time patting everyone on the back and not enough time kicking someash! There is still nothing easy about football...at least Wes was up to par!

It is supposed to be based on an entire season. The committee only looked at one game for Alabama. Texas beat them.

If its best 4 teams then Washington would be out of the top 4 and UGA would be in.
Its supposed to be what you do on the field.
Bama would have NEVER been left out if they lost their 1st string QB. This is a slap in the face to the ACC and Clemson. Could have just as easily been us.

The sub outplayed Travis when he went down....mostly because it could happen to us as well...the second string was in CP and could be practicing tomorrow...those CFP folks should be ashamed...don't get me wrong I despise the 1/2assedsemiholes as much a s the next Tiger...but this crap is just wrong...and we know how much Disney and the SEC are paying them! SHAME?

It the fact that they still won out beat a good Louisville Team the get knocked out of the top 4 by a 1 loss bama team who needed a miracle to keep from being a 2 loss team.
I like many are sick of bama directing the path of college football. FSU earned their way , bama was handed a spot. This is one thing that makes me made so many think bama and saban walk on water.
Plus it was a slap in the face to all members of the ACC. And it destroys the trust of the college football playoff committee. They sold out to the ESPNSEc network/conference.
Every college football fan should be pissed at the CFPC except you bama fans you should send the committee a Christmas bonus !
College Football Playoff Committee has lost all credibility. Now they will select 12 teams next season. Expansion is a big mistake. The committee can’t even get the correct 4 teams now they have to select 12. I don’t have any confidence the committee can get it even close.

Nailed it! Don't understand why some people do not understand that there can be a difference between the 4 best teams (always objective) and the four most deserving teams (as shown on the field).
