Consensus is we are going 5-7 at best. Going to move on from Grisham, Austin on the offensive side. Lemanski Hall, Goodwin and maybe Conn on the defensive side. Dabo is gonna blow it all up. Dabo will be who he is and ride out the season and say the right things, but expect big changes.

I donāt see how anybody hasnāt watched Cade and seen the talent he has. Heās trying to do way to much because he basically has to. If Cade is given an actual OL and playmakers he will take this team far.

I appreciate all the information you have been giving us. Obviously you know some players or coaches really well.
I hope you're right. Austin, Grisham, and Hall have been a disaster. Goodwin, you know is gone after Dabo called him out after the FSU three man rush thingy- was it FSU?
Spiller, eh, he can't do much damage where he is and Dabo owes his career to that man. Fans owe him everything too. We are not the program we are today had he not signed.

Why are yall so ###### determined to have Goodwin fired? We have the #7 defense in the country. Yeah he made a bone headed move at the end of the first half against FSU, but that's it! We would be 2-6 if it wasn't for him and our defense!
Yeah he doesn't run around the sidelines jumping up and down like he's on an eight ball of cocaine, that's what yall want from what I'm gathering.

He has talent and pretty good arm strength, so did Tajh but couldn't see the entire field, don't think Cade has the moxie or feel for the game Tajh had and not many CU QBs could throw the deep ball like Tajh, not Watson or Trevor, but Tajh is Cades maximum upside. He plays and interviews like a ninth grader at the Class A HS level, just super-excited all the time. Don't see him bringing us back to the glory days, hope Vizzina can.

I think Richardson should be on that list tooā¦ āpassing game coordinatorā and our passing game is terribleā¦ I know a lot of that is on development of positions but watch any game and teams figure out how to get guys open and move the ballā¦ everything is so hard for us on offense itās hard to watch. Everything is a struggle and itās almost a shock when we complete a 15 yard pass .

Iām pretty sure in Richardsonās role he could not be an issue good or bad. He is an OC in training imo.
His high school teams were true air raid offenses. Lot of big plays and points.

I would be shocked to see him leave if Dabo does make these changes. With the right hires, we seriously could have the greatest one season turnarounds. We have the talent to compete for titles, but coaching blunders have squandered that.

Iād imagine he gets a substantial input. I think some of the Dabo play calling shenaningans we see is just him knowing what the players are able to do based off their coachesānot to say Riley has no offensive input because I think that sentiment is far from true.
I would guess Dabo and Riley will have guys in mind and collaborate on who fits best.

Cool, thatās what I figured. Dabo isnāt opposed to the portal as some seem to parade. He just sees the value in keeping his dudes and developing players. Teams that are able to develop players donāt take a lot of transfersāsee UGA & Bama. We have lost that ability; thus the decline.
Wouldnāt anticipate much shake up there except for maybe an experienced OL or two.

I was wondering the same. The only thing I could imagine is that he just lacks the intensity Dabo might want. The defense has played well, but they havenāt played with intensity, and the customary one or two busted plays a game seems to be a byproduct of that.

Iāve been saying this for a while. Change is coming. Hopefully a silver lining to the season is it speeds up the process.
ā¦. Multiple issues across the board. Roster management and coaching. Gotta change the OL philosophy on room size. We donāt need to hit the portal a tonā¦ Just sparingly. But make a legitimate effort.

If you get the opportunity to ask, Iād be curious to know how the off-season read of this year was so far off from reality. Did the coaches genuinely think this was a good team that would play for a national championship? Seems like a massive misread on the program to have that expectation and then have a consensus on the inside being a 5-7 season.

I know spiller is in year two, but thatās another that needs to go. Pass blocking out of the RBās is still pourous. Shipley stares at his feet instead of the holes a lot, and the ball security has been god awful.

I hope they talk Batson into retiring. I don't know if your in is with a S&C team member but this team is injury prone, weak, and slow that's an indicator the off-season is not being used properly. The OL has been weak for over 2 decades and the strongest dudes on the team are usually freshmen, how the hell can anyone tell me Peter woods being the strongest dude on a D1 team is a positive?

Heās the safety version of Bently. I wish we could find a way to use him and I think thatās why Wes might be gone. Too much talent all over the place not being utilized. That along with player development, Wes is a genius in scheming up a defense but he isnāt developing the fundamentals. Thatās on him and the position coaches and why we will see change.

Yep i wish Wes would move to an analyst role but I know thatās never going to happen. I feel like his mind is much needed on the staff but we need fire/discipline back. I just really hate to lose Covil his tape reminds me of Weapon X the way heās willing to just lay people out.

Goodwins not going anywhere. You can bet your a## on that. Finished 25 overall defense last year and sitting at #6 right now. Problems not defensive issues its all on the offensive side of the ball. O-line coach gone and Grisham gone.

Our starting DTs are good, the youth look great. Our starting safetyās are good but not as talented as we have had at times. Again, youth looks good here. Wes has done more having this unit at 6 vs last year and quite a few BV teams that were immensely more talented with upperclassmen. Our main problem is misevaluation of upperclassmen particularly on O. Most of these guys wouldnāt have been responsible for that. I think we see changes on O but not much if any on D particularly if the starts hold which will be challenged with some of the upcoming games. The offense 75% of the problem. Special Teams is the other 25%.

Not opposed to Goodwin staying as a DC for developing gameplan/scheme, but perhaps bring in an actual LB coach, put Eason in charge of entire DL (to keep # of on-field assistants in line). Heard anything on those lines?
Think Richardson gets a pass as the TEs have been best pass-catchers past couple seasons despite being mostly underutilized. Would Spiller be on the chopping block given the fumble issues and if we do lose Ship and/or Mafah (since seems like Shipās attitude has been an issue this year & Mafah seems to be underutilized given the on-field results)?
Any word about S&C change? Given the injury bug has been an issue, do you see moving on from Batson being in the cards?
Lastly, potential departures...any particular names you're hearing hitting portal outside the aforementioned Shipley/Covil talk? Any indications on underclassmen expected to declare for draft?

When I was at the Oculus for the FSU game during Tiger Walk, Conn was there with about 5 or 6 HS recruits. Along with Austin and Spiller and their recruits. So heās definitely involved on the recruiting, and I believe heās still coaching the safeties. If not that doesnāt make much sense to have Goodwin be DC and LB coach while Conn does no field coaching. It should be the other way.

Skeptical on any defensive coaches being let go this year but no assistants on the offensive side of things should feel safe right now outside a select few. Wouldn't be upset if things did blow up to this magnitude though because things have become disgustingly bad.

I donāt disagree, but I see the points being told to me. I imagine what would this team look like vs GT with Paul and the triple option. I think we would be in position to defend it but still get gashed a ton vs how Venables had our guys prepared to dominate it.

Agreed. I would be surprised if they let Goodwin go. Defense has been placed in some bad situations due to the offensive turnovers or three and outs but still are 9th in total defense and 12th in yards play.
