going down the decline side, pretty rapidly. Up until yesterday, we were still beating the usual suspects, but those wins were getting more and more competitive. Now, the door is opened, and even the lesser teams know we can be had. The Clemson aura will be completely gone at the start of next season. We will have to scratch and claw for every single win, regardless of opponent. It's gonna get bumpy, if we don't make coaching changes, as well as the obvious needed changes at QB and WR.
I have never been an advocate of the Portal, but there have GOT to be wide receivers out there who are better than what we have on the roster. But, the major problem is, rules be dammed, the good ones already know where they are going before they ever officially hit the portal, and since Dabo doesn't operate that way, we don't have a shot at any of them.

You verbalized the frustration of this entire season. Those of us who called this out were called coots. The plateau/peak was reached the night we beat Bama 44-16. We plateaued for a few years and now the decline has been rapid

I think that's pretty accurate, being a business owner myself for all of 5 months. I've experienced this on a micro scale.
We've had big months only to be followed by very bad months. Looking back, you can see where we got so busy or "fat and happy" and see how it rolled right into the next slow month. Particularly taking my foot off the gas with marketing, networking, etc...
I'd imagine it is the same but on a much bigger scale with a college football program. So to me, it sure looks a lot like he is fat and happy.
I don't think Dabo would have made those same hires with Wes and Streeter when he was first hired.

Paul Finebomb was right. Clemson is soft, another term for “fat and happy”. Been saying for a while there is no hunger, drive, hard edge in this team, coaches or players. This is all on Dabo. He’s fat, happy and living it up on Lake Keowee.

Larry Williams' Tweet, while accurate in his quote of Dabo, implies that Dabo has grown stupid and lacks the knowledge about how to adjust.
Larry is a superficial fool who clearly does not recognize that Clemson simply cannot compete on a 'spend competitively with the big money programs' basis.
I.e., the world of NIL.
Clemson's biggest donors are neither numerous enough nor 'athletically monolithic' in their donations to match up with the 'truly big money' college athletic programs.
Dabo's means to make the adjustment is limited by Clemson's financial resources. Therefore, instead of trying to outspend the other programs, he is trying to further establish the value of superior culture as being more attractive than the value of short-term money.
This is a hard row to hoe, but it is our best (and perhaps only) chance to compete.
Unfortunately, we will only be able to attract a limited 'type of player' whose family prizes long term development of their son over the allure of immediate NIL money.
Dabo has made the adjustment, but Larry Williams is too ignorant to recognize the fundamentals of why we are 'adjusting' via the current approach.

who exactly are we developing?
I get targeting the Mama's boys who want a religious environment for their sons, that's understandable, but these people also want a shot at the NFL and we're currently showing complete stasis, if not regression in so many positions on the field. He'd better start actually developing these kids' talents if that's the game plan.

Disagree with your assessment. All businesses-in this example-will have struggles they have to overcome. This season is one of those as was last season. Five years from now this may end up being a plateau but it can also be the point right before another climb. The problem is you are taking too short a view of the program as a whole.
