Here's the statistic on that chart that sticks out to me...

Compare the US military spending vs Chinese military spending for 2025:

US: $8.9 billion
China: $2.6 billion

During the last decade China's military budget has never been above $270 billion dollars in any given year. In fact - for most of the past decade it has been way less than $230 billion. For the last decade the US military budget has never been less than $630 billion in any one year (the last 4 years it has been well above $700 billion each year).

So the US spends almost 4 times (on average) as China on our military in any given year. YET China somehow manages to maintain a "near peer" military capability to the US for a fraction of the cost. At some point we have got to seriously figure out exactly "how" China can maintain a "near peer" military status at this fraction of the cost or we will go bankrupt trying to militarily outpace them at a 1 to 4 cost ratio.

IMO - this shows just the breadth, depth and effectiveness of the Chicoms espionage and technology stealing programs. The Chinese take a whole of Government approach that takes advantage of every possible opportunity - to include educating their scientists in USA universities. They are trading, bribing and stealing their way to a considerable technology cost savings and we (the USA) seem either unwilling or incapable of stopping it. It is well past the time for us to get after and shut down the many Chicom "systems" that is allowing them to maintain their near peer status on the cheap.
