If we won the ACC and made the playoffs, and considered that to be a successful season?

I said to myself that 10 wins would be a successful season. I didn't envision a loss to South Carolina though. That is a big downer on an otherwise decent season.

Agree, I would have liked the path to be different, but at the end of the day we are in the show and have a chance. That is all we would have had if we beat SC or Louisville.
So we are in the playoffs and now we need to take advantage of it. Plenty of wildcard NFL teams have wind super bowls.

Absolutely successful season.
But can't forget how we got here. Loss to coots unacceptable. Also at the beginning of the year, we were supposed to have a very tough schedule. We ended up with an easy schedule.

It’s NEVER an acceptable year when we lose to the coots.

Losing to the coots negates claims of success short of a national title. Bring home that trophy and we will let it slide.

Ten wins, ACC championship and a playoff birth make it pretty difficult to call this season a failure for anyone other than the perpetually aggrieved crowd.

I look at the entire body of work, not just the final won loss stat. And the entire 13 game body of work is not that great. And it does not look good for the future if you factor in our loss of commitments and recruiting results. To me, the future is just as important as the present. The past is history, so I don't dwell on that. In sports and business, it's the "what have you done for me lately" philosophy that drives the business.
