fired Brad at this point. Absolutely no chance that he will do that. Anyone thinking otherwise is nuts. We have a great bunch coming back, and the program is headed in the correct direction.

NCAA Tournament. You can take that to the bank.
Who is the last coach fired after taking team to NCAA Tournament? I cannot think of one.

Don't ask me who this may be, because I have no idea. But, nobody saw Garrett Riley coming to Clemson either. Yes, I know that Neff had very little with Riley coming to Clemson.
Just saying that we have NO idea what goes on behind the scenes.

Extension or a raise… we know this is as good as it gets for Clemson Basketball as it currently is. The next 2-3 season will be .500 or less.

When did Clemson BB decide that average is ok??? Average simply sucks - that is why we dumped Bowden. If we stand by the motto - Best is the standard - it is past time for a change in head coach and program attitude.

Brad has a ceiling and next year will be more of the same. Even if he had this same team back he will lose games he should never lose and keep us out of the tournament.

Nope, the driver is money. When donations dry up - is time

After 13 years, it is time. When money dries up and donations are affected - because it then hurts all sports - Neff has to move. I guarantee you , high dollar donors are having discussions with Neff. They want to do more than simply beating writers low expectations. Why do you think we are going in the right direction? What changed in Brad? Did he learn how to recruit? Did he get hit by lightning? Did a coconut land on his head?
If none of these - why will anything be different than the set of work for 13 years? Answer, it won’t.

Simply different expectations for Clemson basketball vs all other Clemson sports. It is really that simple. Some folks have accepted the fact that basketball cannot excel at a football school and that premise is false, and seem totally satisfied with occasionally being talked about regarding an NCAA invite.

perpetual hot seat. Either extend him or fire him.
As a non-high donor and much more a football, soccer and baseball than basketball fan, I would like to see up roll the dice and reboot the program. But if we don't fine. Just make a long term decision.

Great comment.
I actually (gulp) think he earned the right to return next year, but we've been on this path for probably five years now. It's terrible for recruiting and leaves us perpetually cobbling together a team. It also starves the program of collective enthusiasm (which surely impacts fundraising).

Money dries up? The largest gift ever to IPTAY was given in December, I believe 50 million.... and the donor did so in support of CBB and CDS Swinney and stated he had a relationship with each of them. Takes a lot of donations to offset that

Bah, people said the same thing about Tommy Bowden.

I think Brownell has not even been as successful as Tommy Bowden was. He's more along the lines of Monte Lee and we know how that worked out. The Tommy Bowden firing worked out fine. We'll see how the Monte Lee firing works out but based on history, Bakich has won everywhere he's coached and is lighting it up on the recruiting trail

All you have to do is look at CBB’s body language in the 2nd half as UVA was rolling….arms crossed, no idea what to change/do. He’s had his chance at the big leagues and he’s just not up to it.
