not their best work, but better than many. Clearly humid that night, um, by definition.

For me, this is one of the worst Widespread Panic songs recorded. Most of Ball

is kinda trash, but this one takes the cake.

1."Fishing" - This song is aight, but people love it. I just don't get the obsession with it.
2."Thin Air (Smells Like Mississippi)" - Best song on album, and that aint saying much.
3."Tortured Artist" - More like tortured audience. This was a George-Era bathroom song.
4."Papa Johnny Road" - Heard is SO MANY TIMES during George-Era, something about beating you senseless.
5."Sparks Fly" - Nope
6."Counting Train Cars" - Nope
7."Don't Wanna Lose You" - It's aight, Jojo tunes can be good jam vessels.
8."Longer Look" - Nope
9."Meeting of the Waters" - Nope
10."Nebulous" - I mean, it's OK, but there is a reason they dont play it anymore
11."Monstrosity" - I feel like this one had/has great jam potential.
12."Time Waits" - Decent little tune, I forgot about this one.
13."Travelin' Man" - The final Mikey song which makes it special, but it's only an OK song.

Your album analysis is spot on.

Thin air was the best song on it bc it still sounded like Panic. I liked fishing kinda but just cause I like Fishing. Tortured artist I’d like to rip my ears off.

I once went to a show in Columbia Missouri at the university. The only encore was papa Johnny road and Duff (RIP) and I walked the fack out bc we had to get to the next show. The entire show was junk besides use me. Slept at a state park in Iowa that night on the ground w no tent.

but end with Papa Johnny Road. FUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKK

Use Me and a Diner in 2nd set sounds nice too

Could have been worse, encore could have been Papa Johnny Road > Climb to Safety

The George years were so meh in retrospect.

I agree in hindsight the show had a few things going for it.

But at the time idgaf about a barstools bc they played it every 4 shows. And the crowd sucked, a bunch of Midwest college kids and they didn’t even want to buy my fluff family paper. We could barely get to the Iowa show bc no one wanted the L.

I remember going to Burger King w just change in Iowa. But the Iowa show was str8 fire! Only about 1000 people there, I could be front row pit and go smoke a bowl and then back to front row. Killer setlist

But you got that climb to safety....eye roll (I loathe that song)

Weirdly enough, I saw them play Daisy Mae on that same tour, CityFest in Charlotte

http://www.everydaycompanion.com/setlists/20030427a.asp

04/27/03 Center Cityfest, Downtown, Charlotte, NC

1: Henry Parsons Died, Ride Me High > Bear's Gone Fishin' > Cream Puff War, Christmas Katie > All Time Low > Stop Breakin' Down Blues, Space Wrangler

2: Old Neighborhood, Dyin' Man > Papa Johnny Road, Rebirtha > Drums > Arleen, Pilgrims, Mr. Soul, One Arm Steve

E: Daisy Mae, End Of The Show*

* with Daniel Hutchens on guitar/vocals
[Everyone remained on-stage during 'Drums'; 'Dream Song' rap during 'Arleen']
