Pride and thankfulness are opposites. I know, 'thankful,' doesn't make for good headlines but it is a component of a good heart.

And reading that article makes me fully confident that we have the right coach, and the right man, to bring us a championship, to lead the young men who decide to play for Clemson University, and to simply represent Clemson.

Makes you truly understand his excitement in big wins like Auburn last season. There is no other coach in the country I would rather have represent Clemson University than Dabo Swinney. To heck with all you people who will say that is crazy, and would take a Nick Saban. Me... I would not replace him with anyone...

through college - going back and forth to somewhere not close by - doing roofing I think or something like that . . .

and then practice and studies and workouts . . .

There is even still a BUNCH more to the story than all that was in this article . . .

It's stories like this about Dabo that make me so incredibly proud that He is our coach. I've heard many stories of how Dabo has touched individuals throughout the community, several who had no ties to the football program or Clemson in general. I met a lady last year at homecoming who has become the biggest Clemson fan because of the impact that Coach Swinney and Kathleen have had on her life. She went on to tell me how she had overcome a drug addiction and that the Swinneys were very instrumental in her being able to turn her life around. He is definitely the kind of man I would want coaching my son. I would like as much as anyone for Dabo to bring the National Championship back to Clemson, but even if he never does, I am just as proud that Dabo is our couch!!!
