Torrey Smith is a fair comparison. Smith is no scrub.

Watkins underachieved in 2012...Watkins is more focused this year, bla, bla bla...
Hes been the same GREAT receiver the wholeeeee time. When you don't get the ball, you can't make plays, bottom line..pleaseeee quit this crap.

Sammy's acceleration >> jukes

when sammy gets 2 steps underneath him, not many can catch him... but his open-field moves in a little bit of traffic are average at best. thats probably why he does not excel at KO returns and would be even worse at punt returns.
gonna miss this group (tajh, sammy, vic) prolly more than any other group ever though. all 3 deserving of all-american status.

But remove Sammy from kick-offs and punt returns. His kick offs have the look of, "hey I ain't gettin' hurt for this, I'm taking this package to the NFL". Compare his returns of late to his all out freshman year. Reckless abandon. Remember the Maryland game of his freshman year? Let him return against the Citadel, but not against Scar or the bowl game. Sammy is gone and we'll miss him. So, for the last two games, showcase him, Tay, Fresh Scott and that bus load of receivers we have. Maybe 3 jet sweeps. Let Humphries handle the returns. Now, some pumper will probably call me a coot.
