We were one of them..THey ALL lost. And, I am speculating that our strike out ration over the past 4 or 5 weeks was in the 30's. I am pretty sure we struck out 31 times or more this weekend. Fellas, when the other team does not even have to make a play to get you out, you are almost playing with only 18 outs, or 6 innings. Toss in a base running error and a caught stealing...and you are at 5. Hard to win like that...Annnnd,by the way...Georgia and Vandy were over 20 percent too.....

No doubt this team was flawed, I am shocked they won more than 40 games. I know some fans were calling for the coach to be fired.
I think he did a heck of a job to win on 40 games.

Flawed is the wrong word. This team was not dominant in any area of the game,

but with a few embarrassing exceptions played well and put together some exciting wins. They had the plusses and minuses. In a three-game set I'll take them to win. In double elimination they need to win the first two and get some breaks if three. If four or five we were in trouble as were a lot of teams.

They did well and it was an enjoyable season. Except for some embarrassing games.....

Six strikeouts in 27 @ bats means they have a great pitcher, or we need to visit the batting cage. But eight strikeouts in 37 @ bats means we're being aggressive and striking the ball pretty well with 10 hits and only a .270 team batting average - assuming no errors. Both cases SOR of 22, +/-. Metrics are just numbers without an ANOVA table. I liked this team. They were not dominant in any area of the game but had the immeasurable elements of desire, hustle, determination, and fortitude. By the way, I liked Vandy too.

I'm sure it has a lot to do with the approach at the plate, there seem to be a lot of free swingers with two strikes. I'm not sure what Nancy State's strikeout rate is but they seemed to be masters at putting the ball in play against us during their sweep while we were striking out. For the most part though putting the ball in play with two strikes seems to be a lost are, especially with us.

I thought it was a good season we just need a couple of great arms and some good bats for nest year.
