First BB game I've watched in a while.

Likely, I've lost touch with the game itself. I saw a brutal sandlot team in TCU. Guys who had no plays but take the shot or pass it. I saw a lot of uncalled infractions on TCU and some on Clemson too. Maybe the game has left me lacking in knowledge of what's acceptable and what's not. IDK.
Clemson played that game with a fair showing of organization and out played and out toughed TCU. Not to be cruel but some of TCU players looked like a roid heads who were far from college age. One guy was half bald. I'd say near 30 y/o old but there's other things to attribute baldness to than age.
Conclusion: Delightful to see Brownell's success. Unfortunately, the 7 minute drought our guys imposed on TCU's offense gave BB an excuse for having three unused timeouts when the clock expired.
I can rest in knowing that that no coaching maroon had the good sense to not interrupt the players sandlot basketball efforts to win a game against a true quality opponent.
Thanks, Brad. Now let's see if your training regiment will stand up to the scrutiny of ACC officiating when Clemson is on the court.

and he is one of the reasons ol Cliff hung it up. He was tired of the NIL and portal BS.
Ellis has been outspoken about his opposition to the direction that college athletics is taking in the world of NIL and the transfer portal. While he is firmly for player compensation, he believes there needs to be transparency as to what’s going on and a cap:
“There have been lots of changes in this game and the challenges at a place like Coastal are enormous since it has become a money game. We’re developing players and having them taken. It was time to send a message,” Ellis stated.
“We have lost key players the last three years, the path we are on is unsustainable and it’s hurting our game. We teach and another school takes them away. It’s not right.”

He probably recruited and trained a big man as good or better than anyone we've ever had.

scholarship to other teams, but it is obvious that is what is happening. Already against the rules, but either no one cares or no one wants to dig into it. I still think a good investigative reporter could do a lot of good.

IDK but I'm thinking that if NIL and TP damage college football...

then it's doing a lot more damage to basketball and it's happening a lot sooner. Imo, if a man is leaning toward completelygiving up on college football he's already discovered that basketball, as it was known even a decade ago, is dead.
I hope Brownell gets the support and wins enough games to recruit some top athletes and our 110 org supports and meets the demand the top players require to remain at Clemson until they graduate. I don't see no 'Dabo,' in him.
I wish we could find the 'Dabo,' of basketball.

Just looked at TCU's roster. Of their 13 scholies, 11 played at another Univ.

I don't know how different than that we are. PJ, Ian, Wiggins all came from HS. Girard obviously didn't. Beyond that, I don't know. Crazy.
Edit: TCU has 17 roster members. Of their 11 portal guys, I am assuming all are on scholarship. But don't really know.

TCU brought some quickness and physicality. They tried to bully the Tigers.

It didn’t work.
Good test and impressive that we passed by playing better fundamental basketball and matching physicality.

Sonof noted that he noticed that BB didn't seem to be calling offensive plays in the second half. I know the building wasn't crowded and loud so there's a chance he could have called them vocally after we crossed half court.
Our guys seem to play sandlot ball and beat TCU at their own game. I suspect we may not be organized well enough to deal with some teams which have most of their players experienced with playing together rather than sandlot ball.
Frankly, Brad has ripped most of my love for Clemson basket ball away by watching our team lose so often. That's probably my fault for being such an optimist. I just can't help myself.

Here is some good news on that:
We almost doubled them in assists last night, 18 to 10. We were 9% points better in FG%, 41 to 32, which is due to the game being the slugfest that it was. 41% isn't great, but for the year Clemson is shooting 47%, which is upper 3rd in the ACC. Miami leads with 50%, there are 4 teams at 47%-ish, and it drops off after that. So, offensive organization seems good. There were some good dishes in the paint last night, I thought.

No doubt about the assist. Both teams were really good at that. A TCU player would drive toward the basket, draw the defense away from the perimeter and quickly throw the ball to an open or almost open man. There were steals on both sides of the ball on that but we actually had some skill at 3's.
