Question for those who are "Done" or "Lost interest" in CFB.......

you're "done" with ALL CFB?

OR

you're no longer spending and donating time and hundreds/thousands of dollars to the Clemson football program?

JMO, but if you're "DONE" then stop sending/spending money attending Clemson football games.......or don't say you're "DONE"

Kudos to the ones (if they exist) who admit it and are not hypocritical.

I'm not done, meaning I will still watch college football, but my interest is lessened considerably. The things that made college athletics so much better then professional sports has been dismantled. There is no honor or pride in playing for your team or school. It's just a job and the teams that win are ones who have the deepest pockets. Saban left because he saw the end. His wife came to him and said Why are we doing this? Players went from the immense pride of playing for a team like Alabama to asking only how much money could they make? This has destroyed the college game and made it all about the individual instead of the team.

If I knew Dabo personally I would be telling him to give it up and retire. You were one of the last coaches to build a real team and win national championships by motivating kids and building their character and skills without regards to money. You were the last of a small group of incredible leaders.

Nothing going forward will mean anything as much as we what he and Saban, and to a small degree Kirby Smart achieved.

Fast losing interest…..Winning and championships have diminished due to focus on money and not academics…..

I don't like pro athletics...the meaning and investment as a fan is very different than what I liked (past tense) about college athletics.

I'm afraid I've already become less invested as a Clemson sports fan already. It makes me sad but I just don't enjoy it like I did just 2-3 years ago. I understand times change and I probably won't be as invested in the future. We'll see of I continue to give to IPTAY in the future. I'll evaluate my level of enjoyment next February to determine if it still matches my donation and cost of tickets. I may just start giving to the University instead.

I'm an Clemson Alumni. I'm that whether or not Clemson fields a pro team or a team of amateurs. And I'll always have my memories or image of what college football use to be.

I stopped paying attention to anything other than product on the field years ago, and with lal the money flowing through the hands of these players, we have the right guying leading them into the next era of CFB.

Careful, you have some here who genuinely believe Clemson was not involved in under the table payments like every other major college football program.

Not at the amounts we're talk about today. They're paying some 18 yo millions of $$$$...good for them but I'm less inclined to give it to them directly

The only people who have any real allegiance to a university are guys in the past who did it for free? That seems to be the position of most of the “I’m done with college sports” posters.

I have an awesome GP doctor who takes a lot of time to explain things to me and really seems to care about my well being. I can’t imagine how much better of a physician he’d be if he was forced to see patients for free.

To me, the issue is this...I am happy to donate to IPTAY and provide support..

to the athletic department and get my season tickets. We have done so for twenty or so years now and enjoy going to games. My concern is that moving forward, my IPTAY donation is no longer going towards supporting the athletics department and scholarships but rather now going towards paying "salaries" of what are now semi-professional athletes. I am happy to support scholarships for guys who want to be at Clemson but am not interested in my money going to people who can jump into the portal if the next offer is better. These are not Clemson guys. If I wanted to go watch paid athletes jump from one team to the next then I could go watch Falcons or Panthers games.

I will always be a Clemson graduate and fan but I am not interested in paying a bunch of post-high school athletes and making them rich when I work for a living. My money can be better spent on my family IF this is where it is all going.

Just my $0.02.

How do you keep Gamecocks out of your yard?
• Put up goal posts
What does a Gamecock grad call a Clemson Tiger grad in 2 years?

Feels that this is the general consensus......nobody's "Done", but ......

This is ultimately going to end up with 8 to 10 regional conferences that will have 70ish schools playing big time football.

Might take 8 to 10 years but this too shall pass

I’ve only watched Clemson games the last couple of years. No longer have any interest outside of that. Kinda like being a Braves fan. I don’t care to even watch the Mets and Phillies play each other, but I’ll watch the Braves still.

I will never be done supporting our Tigers but as far as CFB overall, I am no longer the passionate maniac I used to be, not even close.

It is kind of like how my interest in the NFL fell off dramatically once players started dropping to their knees for the National Anthem...

field, and LETS GO!!!!!!..... The system is changing... the game of football, however, is not outside of different concepts/schemes, better nutrition, etc. Those that are "done" must not like the sport very much or will let the "noise" get in the way. Just like politics, don't listen to the 24 hours a day "world is ending" commentary. Things change....I bet that in 1934, people around Clemson thought that football was over when the school started paying players with scholarships and food.

Go Tigers!

Although I am very disappointed in this whole mess that CFB is heading towards, I will continue to go to and watch the game that I love! More importantly, I will certainly continue to support the players who play for the love of the game. I know they’re out there because I have grandkids that dream of one day playing football and other sports at Clemson. If only for them, I need to believe the opportunity will still be available to them.

I’ll never be done with football in general but specifically Clemson football. I AM very disillusioned that it’s now so different than what I’m accustomed to. It just has a different feel and it’s not a better feeling. I miss the way it was! BUT I turned 60 years old this week so I’ve been here awhile and know that nothing stays the same. You just have to keep adjusting to the changes and that’s what I’ll keep doing.
