Jim Phillips is a legend and this video is awesome but I have no problem with Don Munson's call. You could feel the excitement in Don's voice and I think he's getting better every year. I love when he said "he gave that chicken a ride" referring to Mike Williams carrying the coot defender into the end zone when we played them. I wish someone could make a video on that

Jim Phillips was my favorite announcer of all time of any sport!
I remember listening to him back in the early 70s with my dad when I first became a Clemson fan.
Jim Phillips always was and always will be the "Voice of the Tigers"!

If you folks do not understand what happened here----This is a tape of the days that Deshane Cameron was the QB, thus "Deshane pulls out" every other part of the call is generic. I have heard so many weird comments about this already that I cannot believe people are so gullible.

I remember all of Jim's calls, in the old days when we attended the games--we took our headsets with us and listened to the call. I don't know if this was sarcasm or not, all I wanted people to know was how it was achieved.

You never know how sorely miss someone is until they are brought back to you attention, oh God how I miss that voice and the man behind that voice. He was the greatest that can never be replaced!!!

family is into so many people's lives.
This video floods me with memories of my '51 grad Dad ( now deceased ) and I (as a very young youngster) piddling around in the basement or garage - listening to your Dad paint pictures of things I could only HOPE to see SOMEDAY in my lifetime.
Death Valley. A Clemson basketball game. The Superdome. And so many more .....
Mystical places that I could only dream of because of your Dad telling me about them.
And my Dad getting misty eyed if we won and the excitement in your Dad's voice.
A time and a place and a way of connecting that can never be duplicated.
I am so appreciative of your family and the time away from you guys that your Dad had to do in order to bring it all back to us.

Great audio! I miss Jim Phillips - I was at Clemson from '79 to' 83 - but I really enjoy Don Munson's game calling. Way to go, Don!

He was the voice of Clemson for so long....even way before and after I went to Clemson. For the past few years with all the games on TV, I rarely listen to the games on radio anymore. But the few times I have I still almost expect to hear his voice....
Great video - even from a different angle than I've seen before...
