to make folks want to watch...well there isn't much left.
The FPI is based on, and evolves from, preseason SOS which is no more than a horrible practical joke gone wrong. As the season progress, all the way up until the final bowl game is played, the SOS becomes more accurate yet the remnants of preseason stench is still dominates.
It's a fairground sideshow, a tool used to prove one team is better than another thereby proving one conference is superior to another. It's not statistics it's voodoo.

read more about it. It says something at the bottom about "net points" which i think may help explain some of it the weird rankings, but I'd like to see some details.
FWIW if they are just looking at point margins, Baylor's 70-35 type wins are probably rewarded a lot more than a Clemson 34-17 win so the ratings will naturally be skewed towards Big 12 type teams that score a lot of points, but play shoddy defense.

He says we have a chance to prove we're good, that leaves me with his opinion is that we have a chance. The one thing about this game that worries the living chit out of me, and should everyone else also. That is DW4 not finding an open receiver and forcing the ball to go to where the play was designed to go and getting intercepted, when we all have seen open receivers, maybe not as deep, but open. I think that DW4 has already had about 6 or 7 int's this year in the last 5 games, and that has to stop starting with Miami.

I like that fact the we're disrespected. I have been a fan since Charlie pell was coach. And the is one truth about Clemson that I have found that rings true no-matter how many classes pass through. If they feel disrespected or have to win they do. Bring it on EZPN. You will fuel our national championship. I hope we don't see #1 until the end of the season.

any team can beat any team if there are enough turnovers, penalties, lack of focus,etc..........I want our boys to be determined NOT to have the let down game. One game at a time..........and don't worry about respect until the end of the season. You do realize that we only spent 2 weeks at #1 in 1981........it just happened to be when it mattered most. Go Tigers!

Miam 65th in rushing defense, 53rd in passing defense. These are some of things ole Herbie DIDNT say. Clemson on upset alert.....again. Miami has the athletes to stay with Clemson, not beat Clemson. Playing at a field where Clemson fans may outnumber Miami fans, it will seem like an away home game, if that makes sense. Course, Miami fans have been known in the past to show up for the big games. I still see a 38-21 type victory. Our defense has been known to shut down decent offenses. Our offense has shown they can put up points in a hurry.
