at their spring game...spin however you want Louisville is a top tier program with, I think, the best coach in the ACC. They'll be top 15 if not top 10 again this year. I think they get better than last yr.
are they really putting them in our division?

They will probably be productive on offense

With Petrino coaching and the talent they have. Not so sure the defense is anywhere close to as good as ours or FSU's. At best they can fight for the 3 spot in the division. Will probably have a good record and get a decent non-playoff bowl game.
Gardner is reportedly like Stoudt in many ways. Very calm. Methodical. Hard to rattle. Decent arm.

Or maybe their defense is terrible. But, they will have a

chance to prove themselves. If they actually are a good team, it will show. If not, well that will show too. At least now, like with Boise St we will actually get to see them play legitimate opponents on a regular basis.

This list is pretty much worthless.
I guess it is a complement of sorts to have not started at all and still be 4th.

I understand Winston, and maybe the Duke guy, but

How us the UNC guy up there? They're getting a lot of hype this offseason, setting them up for failure IMO

and there aren't any other guys in the ACC that are either any good or who have proven anything on the field.

Opinions are opinions. Especially when there isn't a whole bunch of analysis to back them up.
What matters more is the end of year comparison.

Pretty bad year for ACC QBs...
Apr 16, 2014, 11:36 AM

Hope Cole does really well, but you know it's a bad year for ACC QBs when guys who've never played aren't particularly highly anticipated are named the 4th best ACC QB.
* When I wrote this post, I hadn't looked through the entire list yet. After looking through the list and barely recognizing any of the names, I would go ahead and say it's a TERRIBLE year at QB for the ACC. There are going to be some really offensively challenged teams this year in the conference unless those teams have great running games (Miami probably will). Heck, Bieber look-alike Greyson Lambert is going to start for UVa.

If Cole lives up to that ranking, we are in for a great year

Behind the current Heisman winner, the returning starter from the best Duke team in a quarter century and a highly regarded 4-star UNC recruit who started most of the 2013 season for the Heels.
Not bad at all for a guy who has virtually no real experience.
This will be Cole's year to shine as a one year senior starter ... much more along the lines of Chris Morocco than Will Proctor.

did you see the rest of the QBs on the list?

I think they're just putting him at #4 because everybody else sucks and a Clemson QB is always going to put up some pretty big numbers.

it really won't matter where he was placed on some subjective pre-season list.
