Face mask ref screw up

Anybody agree that the face mask call in Saturdays game should have been on the Virginia player?

The one on our DL looked like he ripped the helmet off the dude's head either by the ear hole or the back of the helmet, but not the facemask. I guess when you end up with your opponent's helmet in your hand at the end of the play, you get called for a facemask penalty.

Any opening grasped including an attached mouthpiece is a face mask penalty.

Had was under the back of the helmet. He ripped it off with both

Doesn't matter. If you grab/grasp the interior of a helmet anywhere, as well as the mouthpiece, it's a facemask. That's the rule ... the term facemask covers all of that. Call was correct.

The PF was on us, the ref made a mistake when the back judge gave him the info.
