his total mismanagement of the QB situation and offensive coordination this season has now cost us a chance to be in the playoffs. He might also want to consider changing his team goals going forward. Winning a national championship may have to become a goal (as much as he hates to make it one) by virtue of the power five conferences getting an automatic bid to the 12 team playoff. Unless he plans on winning the ACC, getting in the playoffs, and not try to win the “closer”. To not have winning the NC as a goal at Clemson, after having won three already, is ridiculous to begin with, and not what fans want to hear. Nothing wrong with that being a goal every year.

Goal should be making playoff, yes. 2024 winning conference satisfies that. Here’s the thing, if we’d have won the state championship and the acc, we’d do that this year too…

I'll never understand how some of you can question the guy that has brought us here. Dabo has given his all to Clemson, and Clemson has benefitted greatly for his efforts. Every part of Clemson University has benefitted because of Dabo. If he never has another winning team again, Clemson will never be the same because of him.
That is my humble opinion.

I agree with you.
On the other hand, leaving DJ in all the time and not playing Cade more was a mistake.
Dabo is the man, but nobody is perfect!

Not every great coach makes the best decisions. I guarantee you if he could play the hindsight game, Dabo would have changed some things this year. Who knows what he is thinking but he has to know there have been some bad decisions.

Win the closer.
If you win the conference, then the only way you can win the closer is to win the national championship.

Assuming the expanded playoff materializes with auto conf champ bids, then I think perhaps he will make that a goal. He previously stated that was not a goal since it was not something the team con control - the tigers could be perfect and still not get invited. Now that will not be the case, win and you are in, that seems a legitimate goal.

I disagree with changing the goals. If we had beat the coots last week and if we win the conference tonight we would’ve been firmly in the playoff mix
