Spurrier explains why USUC can't get to a BCS bowl
Jul 23, 2014, 10:23 AM

They (CLEMSON) get there and we don’t. That’s just the way it is. The SEC can only send two teams and the ACC sends two. We’ve got too many good teams going,” Spurrier said.
Wah-wah-wah! He never really complained about the SEC having too many good teams while HC at UF - so what's he saying? I guess USUC is just not one of those SEC "good teams".

It would be really interesting if they decided to do the postseason a different way from now on so as to avoid issues like this.

I wonder if they should do something like a playoff to make it more flexible in terms of which teams/conferences represent in the major games?

As a football coach, your destiny is in your own hands. Win games, make a BCS game. Beat Georgia or Tennessee last year and they would've had a good shot at being in a BCS game. Don't get routed by Auburn in the SECCG a couple years ago, and they probably make a BCS game.
All he has to do is win.

All the old sack of wind had to do was win in Knoxville and the BCS would have been highly likely. I am proud that Dabo has not lost a game like that one that he should win.
Go Tigers!!!

He dances pretty good for an older guy , doesn't he ? Bottom line is that SCar played 3 tough games last year in conference and 1 tough OOC , they went 2-1 in the SEC games I would term "tough games " and they beat CU in a tough OOC game. Problem for them ? Lost to a dumpster fire in Knoxville eliminating them from BCS considerations. Spurrier cannot stand reality ...so he deals in a lot of cutesy sayings and backhanded compliments. The egomaniacal way to deal with failure .

He did not fully explain it. They can't finish above 5th place in their conference. They did win one division by default but got so blown out in the conference championship., nobody wanted them.
