and claims to have been born in Malta but the Maltese government can find no record.
The guy responsible for reviewing/approving hires?
https://nypost.com/2025/06/17/us-news/sergio-gor-trump-aide-who-vets-thousands-of-staffers-hasnt-been-fully-vetted-himself-sources/
Who knows…perhaps he’s just a garden-variety MAGA nut job in an important WH role. That’s nothing new. But…shouldn’t we be sure?
According to the article, the guy refused to disclose his birthplace to the Post. His BIRTHPLACE. Doesn’t seem like someone should be able to hide if they are going to work in the WH.
According to the article, “Gor strongly opposed use of the SF-86 during the presidential transition, claiming he was concerned about the ‘deep state’ weeding out Trump’s picks.”
Is this real life? So he trusts his own keen senses of who passes a background check? “Trust me, Bro?”
What say you, Team MAGA? Another case of “no biggie”?

Is it something Trump did?

Then it's perfectly legal and acceptable and it should be fully excused and let's change the subject and talk about something else.

SF-86 is used for security clearances

If he doesn't need one, I don't blame him for not filling one out. It is very thorough and detailed going into names/details of relatives and friends, workplaces and dates, SSNs, etc.
The gov't has been hacked more than once with full SF-86 records being taken, including mine on at least one occasion.

You guys always latch onto the wrong thing to avoid criticizing Trump.

“If he doesn't need one, I don't blame him for not filling one out.“
What HE wants is irrelevant. Rest assured, if you offered me a role in the WH and said I either could or could not fill out a 100 page form, I would politely decline to complete the form. I cannot imagine declining to tell people where I was born, but whatever.
The POINT is that this administration should not be treating background checks as optional. “He’s been loyal to Trump” is an insulting criteria to the American people. It’s OUR country, not Trump’s. The administration should demand completion of the form and the American people should demand an administration that takes the security of this country seriously. This man has a hand in the appointment of thousands of Executive Branch roles.
Anyway, from the article:
***************************
Sources describe Gor’s failure to submit the SF-86 as of the time of The Post’s inquiries as rare, if not unique, among White House aides. He currently has an interim security clearance, as do some other Trump officials who are awaiting the completion of background checks.
An SF-86 “is the first step in receiving a security clearance. Everyone — EVERYONE — fills one out, even if they’re not going into a role that will ultimately need an activated clearance [such as] random comms people, administrative staff [and] legislative affairs,” a fourth source said.
***************************
So he has been given “interim” security clearance. Not sure what the vetting is for that.

Dems just spent four years in an environment where they happily went along with having no idea whatsoever who was actually in charge at the WH, only that it wasn't the corpse we were all assured was sharp as a tack. Now they suddenly care about things like proper vetting and background checks? Shove it morons.

“Are you completely loyal to Trump over anything else?” The president himself is a convicted felon, he would fail a background check at any employer.

Really highlights that we don't live in a meritocracy. All of us who aren't rich or well connected can't imagine getting a job without being able to provide basic information like place of birth or college degree.
