I walked by Esso last Saturday before the game, they had a massive inflatable screen as well as some other TVs outside. I am usually tailgating in lot 6 and don't go over that way often.


Is Esso always like that during the games or was that a special occasion? Couple of buddies are coming into town for the game but are just going to watch it somewhere rather than actually go. Would you say outside Esso is the best spot to watch or would you recommend one of the other bars downtown?>

I actually went inside first time to toast JOE21 after his church service with a cold beer and could not believe how nice & interesting it was to eat & socialize, the ole Clemson football pics & mementos on the wall, choosing from several neat ESSO caps or T-shirts, the college atmosphere, etc.

The Esso usually does something like, with outside TVs, during games, especially night games.
It’s a fun atmosphere but it’s pretty crowded and chaotic. If your friends like that, then they should enjoy it. Just realize that especially for this game, it will be packed. And the waitresses/service will be stretched thin.

Bars downtown will be the same.

Esso is always a fun time. Sometimes they will also have a band outside on the stage. A trip inside is a must. People are also very nice and cordial no matter the team they are pulling for.
