Far from it. Wait until we’re twelfth going in with Bama or UGA right behind us. They’ll screw us to get one of them in the playoffs.

clearly, other factors came into play when evaluating FSU v. Texas and Bama.
They were (using FPI): SoS (advantage Texas) HtH (advantage Texas. Big time.) Results v. T25 (advantage Bama) Resuts v. common opponents (advantage Texas) Conference titles (it's a wash)(but it certainly ***DESTROYED*** UGA)
I don't see FSU with a lot of advantages in there. Do you?
Which is why I say it *especially* didn't help that FSU performed so poorly against Loovull. Hard to make a case they belonged in the top 4 with a backup QB when they barely beat 16 with one. And don't say QB2 and QB3 are a discernibly different pair. They aren't.
And don't say defense wins championships.

... the realization that "It could happen to us."
If "the committee" can leave out a 13-0 ACC champ, then they could leave us out. With "us" being any ACC team.
And, even next year, assume the ACC champ gets in. Well, when it comes down to
ACC champ - in ACC A - 11-1 ACC B - 10-2 ACC C - 10-2
SEC Champ - in SEC A - 10-2 in SEC B - 9-3 in SEC C - 9-3 in SEC D - 8-4 in
Five SEC teams, 1 ACC team.
For all those saying with a 12 team playoff it will be easier to get in if you're in the ACC than the SEC, I suggest you think again. What is easier, winning the ACC championship or finishing 5th in the SEC?

You talk to us as if we've just passed through the birth canal. Like no one's come within reach of a great accomplishment only to see it derailed by circumstance.
FSU's got a broken leg. You don't ask a gal with a broken leg to the big dance.
Tell you what, though -- let's see FSU go wreck shop on whatever version of UGA shows up. If y'all can pull that one off, I bet you'll have a lot better position than that which you're occupying now.

What other sport speculates about how an injury affects a team and then uses it to determine a playoff bid?
That’s the underlying issue. Eye tests are BS and they are supposed to be irrelevant in a playoff system.
What makes March Madness so fun? Underdogs advancing.
You can’t exclude someone the right to advance because they lost a player.

If we'd gone out in our game and hung 30+ and 500 yards of O to their 6 points and 200 I'd be irritated.
But if we'd gone out and pulled up lame with 16/220, Id think "Welp. We had a shot to make a case we could hang without our best offensive player. And we didnt."
One thing I wouldnt expect is for my rivals to form a dern support group on my behalf.

Imagine being left out due to how your offense looked in 1 game out of 13 even though you still won that game by double digits and went 13-0. Then imagine the team that got in over you not only having a loss, but just a week earlier needing a Hail Mary to beat a team that lost by 21 points to New Mexico State the week before that.

Since you mentioned body of work, almost EVERY metric they consider has Bama ahead of FSU, even with Travis. The only difference is Bama lost to #3, and FSU didn't even play anyone ranked that high. The bottom line is the FSU team that played UF and LOU was not the same one that played the other 11 games.

Middle paragraph: I doubt it. I think we as a fan base would be irate. Justifiably so.
Bottom paragraph: we haven’t. We’re bothered by what happened, not who it happened to. Norvell seems crooked and it is FSU. Bret might be one of the few redeeming things about that school.

You’re missing the big picture. The college football playoff committee just relegate at the ACC to second class citizenship. That was a dagger to all of our hearts. We will lose recruits because of it we will see players leave the ACC for other conferences because of it. We don’t give a crap about FSU. It’s the slap in the face to the entire ACC.

And with respect it's not a particularly compelling cause for alarm. The CFP is not out to get the ACC or Clemson. For crying out loud.
If any one of the other four had lost their QB1 and then laid a massive offensive egg in their championship game on the way to a breathtakingly underwhelming 16-6 win, they'd be NY6 bowl bound, too.

Isn't there a good chance at least one or two ACC teams can play their way into the top 12 next season?
The brand didn't take a hit, either. I do branding for a living.
The ACC's brand has never and will never be on par with the SEC in the football space. Just not gonna happen. It's why behemoth programs like Texas, OU and aTm are willing to ditch the BXII and clap hands with the folks over in Birmingham.
Because they all understand that if a brand is just a promise built on a set of beliefs (not original to me), the SEC means football.
Clemson is a football school in a basketball league. The sooner they can work a way out of it, the better, assuming they want their football cash cow to remain healthy and viable.

Has nothing to do with loving FSU. I'm looking at it from my perspective as a Clemson fan how I would feel. If we got left out in this scenario I guarantee all of you saying get over it would be screaming bloody murder. I can't stand FSU as our rival but they did what they had to do to make the playoffs. It was then just dismissed by the committee to save face for the SEC.
