Endowment Programs & $ differences at Clemson vs Usc.

Considering that each year the Endowment $ figures change as does the economy and investments in the stock market, etc..

It’s interesting that Clemson’s has been even or a tiny bit higher/larger than that of Carolina’s..

With both being short of $1 Billion during last several years but Clemson did reach the $1 Billion mark in 2021 but then slid below that billion high to the $995,000,000 level.

Amazing fact is both Universities are about even in endowment $ while usc is almost 100 years older b/c of being an original colony state Flagship school, located in the state capitol, having many grads in the state assembly due to having a Law School..plus having a larger grad base thus a double figure in sports fans.

With all this stated, a Billion $ endowment is sadly Chicken Feed compared to many other Institutions of higher learning especially the Ivey League..

And thus reason to consider donating $ to it in addition to IPTAY, Tiger FB & Tickets, etc.

USC is in California.
Carolina is in Chapel Hole.
Everyone knows that. Only a certain type pretends otherwise.

99.9% of US population knows that USC is a national brand and laughs at Little SC trying so hard to use that. Ditto with Carolina being in Chapel Hill and the chickens calling themselves that.

Public college endowments are not the same as private. They are useful for infrastructure but are not the lifeline like a private school as the state legislature will throw $ in case of operational difficulties. To me, if deciding where to donate, if to the school it is for construction, if to IPTAY or 110 it is for marketing and brand.
