Thoughts on Panthers fan day?

2

Jun 21, 2024, 3:38 AM

Why after so long are the Panthers trying to cozy up to South Carolina (State of) and Clemson fans?

Nope, haven’t thought about it

Why waste your time thinking about someone (something) that’s not interested in you

Figured it was a nod to us renting Death Valley to the startup Panthers. Would rather have Falcons there. I’m stubborn that way. All my buddies in SC jumped in the Panthers bandwagon. I can’t do that. I pull for Clemson, Braves, Falcons, and Lakers. Once my heart is given it can’t be taken away.

5 bucks a ticket. After their broken deal for a practice facility in Rock Hill, nobody should show up from SC.

As I said yesterday, p|$$ on the Panthers...

Unless and until the organization and David Tepper make things right with York County and Rock Hill on the abandoned $800 million Panthers HQ project, neither he nor the team should be allowed to set foot in the state.

of the Panthers organization. And, as the original Panthers owner Jerry Richardson was a Wofford Terrier, I never understood the Panthers apparent love for Coots, and disdain for Clemson, right out of the gate. Being as Clemson allowed them to play their first season at Death Valley, you would think it would be the other way around.

Championship team, is a Board of Trustees member and has given tons of money to Clemson, right? For sure anyone can not like the Panthers for whatever reason they want, but yours seems misunderstood as far as them having 'disdain' for Clemson. The Panthers were the Richardson family, and the Richardson family was the Panthers

The key word in your (arizona) post is "were". Mark Richardson was kicked out of the organization by his father and now it's Tepper.

I think Panthers are magnificent creatures but they would never stay in their seats for 3 plus hours no matter the weather! Plus they would eat people rather than spend money on concessions. My thoughts on this ... no way!

Villain businessman, but that would be too on the nose for a movie.

He is fleecing the city for stadium upgrades again, of course threatening to move.

The vast majority of residents oppose the $650 million taxpayer-funded renovation proposal for Bank of America Stadium, which also includes a 20-year agreement to keep the Panthers in Charlotte. If this does get approved, and that's a big if, his next demand will be adding a taxpayer-funded dome to the stadium.

Unless it is for actual useful things...never fix a pothole which can be left to grow.

The money which would be used is future taxes designated for tourism and infrastructure, but I truly believe there are better ways to use that money.

After following the panthers for 20 years and no Clemson players drafted in that time, I have switched allegiance to the Jaguars.

Going to Jacksonville for 2 games next season and maybe more in the future.

Also a longtime Steelers fan.

I hope she can repair the damage, but it would take a lot more than a fan day.
It would seem to me that there would need to be a statement saying they needed to repair the relationship with the state of South Carolina and Clemson, and then follow up with years of commitment to the area.
The Panthers did a lot of damage with their actions over their history.

The Panthers are sad and desperate. I wouldn’t pay $5 to cross the road and watch them play an actual game, much less pay $5 to sit and watch them practice in Death Valley in freaking August.

Re: Thoughts on Panthers fan day?

Clemson fans should boycott this fan begging from the Panthers. They have historically ignored anything Clemson and we should not forget that. I don't think Clemson should have O.K.'d this venue instead of agreeing to it.

My politically connected son, who has lived in RH all his life, was on the board and told me that Tepper was ignoring the agreement and wanted Rock Hill to pay 90% of the cost. When they started talking about it publicly he pitched a billionaire temper tantrum and took his ball and went home. Good riddance, but I feel for the Rock Hill tax payers. Did I mention that that Panthers can Pack Sand
