Dual Update: Deer Wars / Mower Saga

First, I got the mower back from the shop. It was a best case scenario. A "massive" (their words) clump of grass got impacted between the belt and pulley, and started burning the belt. Belt was OK because I didn't run it when it started smoking. $57 for 30 min. of shop labor. I'm taking that as a win, and a lesson not to run it on a 2 when my grass is at a 4+.
Second, the deer have penetrated my beefed-up defenses (aluminum wire) and are back to stripping my precious tree. p6fuller® I put down the spray, to no avail. I'm about at KenM_Tigerfann®'s rec of the motion sensor sprinkler because I think I can tuck it back far enough (giggity) not to soak an overnight amazon driver. But, I took a loss last night to learn more about my enemy. Here I saw concerned about these mf-effers going over or around my defenses. Nah, these crafty devils are going UNDER. So, I'm going to run a few more lines and see if that does the trick. If not, time for the sprayer. Or some motion sensor halloween decorations.

Much like velociraptors, it's not the deer you see.

They start munching on a dosed tree they’ll be turning around in circles, laying on their backs looking at stars contemplating the cosmos, and listening to their old Dead bootlegs. But they won’t be hongry.

That’s what we do at the lake and it seems to work. The deer hate doing laundry so they avoid them.

The sprays work well as long as you do it once a month or so. Liquid Fence, Deer Away , etc. I was determined to win the war this year so I’ve really stayed on top of the spraying. I’m winning! Dang expensive though.

I’ve heard the red pepper works. Won’t work for me though. Has to be sprayed out of a big tank.

He was out there the night I sprayed it.
I'm beginning to think I just need to kill him and hang his carcas from the recently powerwashed stoop.
