Don't Want A Ruined Homecoming ---

Oct 18, 2022, 5:39 PM

I remember many years ago. A noon kick-off....on a beautiful sun splashed day. I mean every color popped so crisp ad vivid everywhere.... including the trees and the green of the grass. Inside Death Valley the orange in that place was so full and lush it was as heaven had a summer home. The Clemson Family that was out there were as happy as I've ever seen.

We were playing North Carolina that day and even the uniforms of the Tar Heels was looking good. Unfortunately it turned very ...very ugly that day. Julius Peppers and company should have been arrested for ruining a beyond picture perfect day for Homecoming. Former students and all came back home to experience that disaster.

Maybe it was in my head but I did see people looking at myself and other Clemson fans with a look on their face as if they were trying to keep from laughing. I did see and hear some teenagers at Haywood Mall in Greenville..verbally chastize and insult other Clemson fans that was wearing their Clemson colors.. who tried to get on with their normal lives and get over that huge loss we suffered.

I felt like somebody paid the University off or something because in my eyes.... that was not Clemson on that field. I was so heated after everything was over I decided to just go home and lock myself in my apartment . Oh I tell you,.. life goes on but that day was top 3 worst when it comes to Clemson football losses at home.

Go Tigers.... Squeeze The Chitt Out Of Syracuse Until There Is NOTHING LEFT OF THEM.

we took my new son in law to that game. Disappointing performance by Clemson to say the least

You got the weather wrong for that day.

It was miserably hot for a fall day.

If so, I was there for that. If I am not mistaken, he had Woody D. running for his life.

Men at 25 play football. Men at 40 play tennis. Men at 60 play golf. Have you noticed as men get older their balls get smaller.

I believe old Julius intercepted a pass for a TD, we were down 2 scores before my seat got warm.

I'm with you. It's bad to get so invested in a sporting

event that you feel physically ill when it doesn't turn out like you want. I remember watching "The Greatest of All Time" Muhammad Ali against Ken Norton, the fight where Norton broke Ali's jaw. I felt like puking after that fight was over, and thinking "It wasn't supposed to end like this!" A little Tim Tebow lament long before Tim Tebow. But, the good news was, for Ali at least, it was FAR from the end.

These days, I remind myself that even if my Tigers lose, the sun will still come up in the morning, even whether I am around to see it or not. And, I console myself with the knowledge that my school is in the Top Five or so in college football now, year in and year out, with last year being an aberration. And, even last year was a No. 14 finish in the AP, No.16 in the Coaches Poll. I know a school in the center of the state that would probably even give up behind the dumpster s.ex if they could have that finish all the time.

:)

So, life is good these days, very, very good.

I think he's scared Dabo isn't going to call the Tigers off.

Leaving Dino Baber crying like that little BC coach in the poofy vest jacket. And he's worried about the Sarahcuse fans on the board and in attendace not being able to handle the slaughterfest.

At least that's how I understood it.

I think that game was the week after Woody put up 500 and some odd yards on NC State.

Geez, that was a long time ago. It’s ok to let it go now. Plenty of better things have happened with the Tiger football program since that day. Yes, I saw it too. JP was an awesome player.
