Is 40Obtainable?
Is 40 Obtainable? We have seen 40 become the magic number in college baseball. For teams in major conferences, 40 wins often means hosting regionals and super regionals. Since that is usually the goal for Clemson baseball, lets look at the Tigers' chances at 40 wins.
Clemson took two o

On 2/17, I predicted 44-20. On 3/19 after losing to Ga Southern, I revised it to 38-26. I just do not see getting to 40 now, even with ACC tourney. Our best chance is going to be sent somewhere other than the Columbia regional. Lick the wounds and hope for better next year with a little seasoning and an injury or two healed. Disappointing year. I still support Jack but something has to change next year or the downhill momentum will continue and we cannot allow the program to get too low before trying to get it back up. Shame that we trail Va, NC, Louisville and SC. No reason we cannot be .500 against those 3. FSU, Miami, I can see due to instate talent.

The way things are looking now the Tigers better find a way to beat the Coots. Well if a team like Liberty don't beat us before we can play SC.

I never like to give up but I guess I am basically saying it is time to start thinking about next year. Maybe try someone else at SS, etc.?

all to think we host a regional. Unless we tank the rest of our games, we will make a regional; as a 3 seed simply because of our past experience, but we will be made quick work like last year. The baseball program continues its' downward spiral.

Wouldn't you think with a bull pen as inconsistent as Clemson's late in a 11-3 game as it was with WCU, you would be looking for help by playing some struggling pitchers rather than Long and Moyer?
