Determining which teams are home for a tournament

In the post-season has always followed the rule of which teams have been home/away more than the other. This is not something new and I’ve never seen a Clemson fan complain when we were a lower seed and the home team vs a higher seed/host.

I don’t care if it’s been around for 100 years

I don’t care what other Clemson people think
I don’t care if it benefits Clemson
It’s stupid. If you’re coming out of the winners bracket you should be the home team. Being in the winners bracket is supposed to give you advantages. Including being the home team. You can rationalize it or justify it anyway you want it’s still stupid and illogical.

A lot of times I agree with your logic and your opinions.
Your approach, not so much.

Don’t give a #### what anybody thinks about me or my opinions. The only opinions I care about are my family. And a few close friends. And honestly, I don’t really care that much about their opinions either. The only two people that I’ve ever cared what they thought about me are my parents.
I’m actually nothing like people on here think I am. I’m just very direct. Honest to a fault. Blunt as a sledgehammer. I’m old-school. We’ve gotten away from that. And that is part of the problem we have as a society. I don’t play games and don’t beat around the bush. I believe in truth integrity honesty. I don’t sugarcoat anything.
I have always been a polarizing person. I can change the mood of a room just walking in. But it’s funny because my family and friends will tell you that part of what they love about me is that I am so honest and direct.
But my mother has said to me more than a few times that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Of course, my response is always …. I’m not interested in catching flies.
For the record it comes across in print much different than in person. In person, it comes across kind of funny and sarcastic. But I freely admit I am and can be an ####### at times.
As Popeye says, I amsk what I amsk!

Your mom was right. And you remind me of a story about a very good friend of mine. He is a great guy but is extremely competitive about everything and every discussion and it gets worse after a few beers. At some point he was being a total jerk and his mom evidently told him he was being an a-whole. So whenever he got belligerent after that we would just look at each other and say “Donnie’s Momma was right”.

This follows the standard home/away designations

for double-elimination tournaments. The higher seeds get initial and 2nd game home designations. The first game the last day puts the higher seed in the away slot to better even that out with its opponent. Were a 2nd game needed today, the higher seed will resume its home slot, giving it the overall home edge.

Unless it's a one-gamer, almost all playoffs mix home and

away games and designations, with the edge to the higher seed. The 2nd game of a Super Regional series puts the host team in the Visitor slot, then back to home if there is a game 3.
Multi-team tournaments like this that rely on a host site for all games instead of everyone traveling all over for each. As a #1 we get both the home crowd and batting last to our advantage overall.
