I LOVED the Power Rangers and 2018 D as a whole

But I think this year will be even better, if that were possible.
The biggest reasons are depth and speed at linebacker.
I've been around Clemson football since the mid-80s and this will be the most athletic group of LBs since Levon Kirkland, John Johnson, and Ed McDaniel. This group will be very special.
And the depth on the D-Line is just sick.
The only mild concern is maturity at the Corner. I know we've got talent, but can Fred Davis be who we thought he could? Are Malcolm Greene and Nate Wiggins ready to take a rather large step forward? Will we need to rely on Freshmen?
I think this D will take some pressure off the O early in the season, which they will need. Now the O? That's a different question.
And this all assumes we don't get a tidal wave of injuries like last year.
I'm looking forward to seeing this D. I believe in Wes, also.

Just that he's progressing nicely. But Dabo did say first day that Bresee wouldn't practice all spring... And the good thing is he doesn't need to.

Good assessment. Kinda glossed over the corners discussion. Yes, it is a very talented group. No doubt Pride and Lukus will dominate at some point. The good thing, with the rest of our D in place, we have a nice schedule for them to grow. Not sure how to interpret that we're in a better spot than last year. We had a veteran group last year all over the back-end.
His quote from last spring on the oline is almost verbatim on what he said about our corners in this piece.
Not many teams early should be able to have time for plays to develop. That's good. Can't wait.

16 for 18. Nice

But that doesn’t tell us the whole story. How many of those throws would stretch a defense?

Remember that Dabo has won 2 National Championships at Clemson and he knows what he is doing. Trust the coaches and know we are a team and not 1 position. The most important word I read in the story was FAST. I have thought one of our weaknesses on defense has been lack of speed at linebacker and it looks like we have it this year. Hopefully, the same will apply to wide receiver where we were woefully slow last year with all the injuries. Speed kills.

In other words, white. Those slow players were enough to land Clemson in the top 10 defensively in every season but one over the past 8 seasons and one season even the top defense in the country. If that's a weakness, I'll take it.

Sounds like Defense is Way Ahead of Offense

This is the norm at Clemson and not a negative if Offense is able to pull it together at QB and OL. Unconcerned about WR ability, they just need reps and consistently accurate passes.
Defense is loaded. Will not be surprised to see some LB's leave via portal if they do not like where they are in rotation before summer/fall practices start. Lots of talent at LB that has been unable to get on field due to 5-6 year players.

so they don't jump to the portal. And a lot of 2's and 3's getting time at 1's and 2's.
