Don't fall for the coot propaganda:
Sep 13, 2016, 10:02 PM
|
|
This post comes on the heels of the coots getting the commitment from OrTre Smith from Wando this weekend.
To hear them tell it, his commitment is all part of Muscoots "grand plan" to "take over the state" in recruiting and that plan is going to lead to Clemson's demise. As if them getting a higher % of in-state commits than us is going to somehow vault them over us in both recruiting rankings and on-field performance.
First, the state of SC only produces around 6 - 8 blue chip P5 D1 players per year. Even if they got EVERY ONE OF THEM, that would put them woefully behind us and other elite programs in the SEC in regards to overall talent. Of course they won't get everyone of them. They seem to convince themselves that the in-state kids will feel "slighted" by Clemson and this will have them play with a "chip on their shoulder" against us. Ha, this is fantasy land.
Sure, we would have taken Brian Edwards, as a DB. OrTre, yes, he had a committable offer from us as a WR but he would have had little to no chance of avoiding a RS year at Clemson. Shi Smith? We stopped recruiting him long ago.
So, if all these SC guys aren't going to be enough to bring them championships, were else do they go? FL? GA? NC? Nope, not enough gravitas to swing enough big fish from those states to get them over the hump.
Also, just keep in mind that the coot staff has not proven that they can coach and develop talent (see Florida).
Bottom line, expect them to remain what they have always been. A middling program in a down SEC East that will average about 7 wins a year annually.
That is all......

to beat some of the crappy SEC East teams. Beating Vandy and Kentucky isn't very hard. Mizzou seems like they are going to be pretty bad as often as not.
6 wins a year might be more reasonable, but a lot of it depends on how well UT, UGA, and UF do.

And where do you currently coach football? Just wondering where your pedigree stacks up to the staff that played for a NC last season.
Are you coots feeling good about 'beating' Clemson on these recruits? Lol. Are you guys feeling like world beaters again? Should I show you threads of your preseason excitement last year and the year before? You know, before reality smacked you across the face.
If you're looking for a pat on the back, you won't find it here...but you may find a swift kick in the ### in the form of a ban (hopefully).

He wasn't going to compete with our current WRs for playing time, but Reed could have developed him into an NFL DB. See TJ Green. Clemson initially recruited OrTre as a TE, which he didn't like. Good WRs are a dime a dozen, good TEs are rare.

You wanna control the way I respond to a poster on a public forum? Good luck Kim Jong-Un...you're a long ways from North Korea.
I don't have to explain myself to you but I'll take moment. Tymcoot's a coot troll that loves to stir the pot and troll the board. I'm sure he appreciates you standing up for him but he's a big boy and free to respond/troll back. His pulse should have been your first clue...

A couple things; 1)Transitive property cannot exist in college football. 2)Bryan Edwards should have been recruited by Clemson as a WR. He's much, much better than most realize. 3) yes, SC has the #1 from NC and #1 from SC committed and is trending for 2018 #1 from NC Z. White, along with 2018 #1 from SC X. Thomas. 4) ...and most importantly, the fact that this conversation is even taking place is very, very telling.

Well , they do get a small bump in recruiting rankings because of SEC membership , and because oversignages.

Justin Foster is the top recruit in NC by the way

Rated higher per 247 sports in composite ranking and prospect rating. Foster is also rated higher on ESPN and Rivals. Not sure where you get you're stuff from but none of us would mind if you'd head back to your roost and suck on a railroad spike.
But regardless, I'd have to say the pecking order in NC would be Foster, Lawler, Melton, Cauthen, Jones and THEN maybe Himsacoot or however you say his name. And you know that you guys often have a problem with people qualifying too....

no one gives a #### - right? usuck is not on the same planet and you are at best a 6-7 win program - like nc state or wake. you had a few good yrs. wake gets recruits. so does state. you comment on a bored that has a team that just played in the national championship and is favored to do so again. and gets to cherry pick recruits. you need to go over to vandys bored or ecu's bored. many many more commonalities when it comes to football programs

What I have seen from the Coots the last 2 games is a team with not much talent. It would take at least 3 top classes to get them back to decent. Then if they get some good players somebody has to coach them. They may over the next few years have some good Ds but Boom is a 7 win coach .
