Update.
Emily is out of surgery electrodes are in place and she is doing good. Thank you God and everyone for their thoughts and prayers!
Please pray for my wife Emily Jones. Emily will be undergoing two brain surgeries, the first of which is scheduled for September 18, 2013 @ 8:30am. She will be under the care of a neurology team in Orlando, Florida at The Florida Hospital of Orlando. Emily was diagnosed with epilepsy around age ten, and has been seizure free until just recently. This team has proposed surgery as a hopeful option to control Emily's seizures, which have become more severe in the past couple of years and less and less responsive to a variety of medications. Emily's first surgery will involve finding the location of Emily's seizures. After she has had three seizures, the second surgery will remove the portion of her brain where they are occurring. It may take days or weeks for these three seizures to occur. She will be in the hospital during this entire time. Doctors do not know what kinds of challenges Emily will face as she recovers until they are able to isolate the seizure location. First, please pray that the surgeries go smoothly. Pray that her seizures never return and that she doesn't have to suffer the miserable side effects of medications that have been a part of her recent daily life. Emily is a sunshine whose rays have gone behind the clouds. She is a wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She would do anything for anyone. She is strong and brave and can't wait for her rays to return. Thank you all for you loving thoughts and prayers for my wife and our family as we go through this process.
