just lost my wife's mother in late January, and she was sufferiing so badly from it at the end, that the end was really a blessing, even though the grief at her loss still hurt, a lot.
Just try and remember, each day, that your mother cannot help what is going on. She may say things that you know are not her, and you just have to ignore them, or try to agree with her, whatever will maintain calm the best. Easier said than done, and it is hard not to get frustrated at times. Your whole family has our prayers, dementia affects far more people than just the person who has it.

My dad, Clemson grad as well, had dementia. Take as much advantage of those rare windows of clarity with her and treasure them as much as you can.

If you will give me her name, I will add her to our church prayer list. I attend New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Dementia is a terrible affliction. I have lost two family members who died with dementia. I pray you all receive peace beyond all understanding during this incredibly tough time.

She has my prayers, I have witnessed first hand the awful effects from that terrible disease, and it's absolutely heart crushing to witness from someone you know and love. I do believe that when she enters the kingdom of Heaven, that terrible disease won't be allowed to cross the threshold of Heaven with her where she will be given eternal life free of any health problems or disease, God bless her!!!
