Does Vic Beasley think he's arrived?

Jul 18, 2014, 7:20 AM

I thought it was interesting that Venables didn't mention Beasley as a leader of the defense during the interviews at the golf outing. He made comments on how some teams he had in the past had returners that were a cancer to the team because they think they are the big men and everyone should be grateful they have returned.

Was he alluding to Beasley with that comment?

I don't have any idea about the team dynamics but I thought the lack of mention about Beasley as a leader was noteworthy.

I hope Vic isn't like that. I believe him to be a hard worker at his craft, but I didn't like that comment by CV. And, I wondered who he could be referring to.

Anybody know what Coach V meant?

I think Vic is a great DE. I hope he has 5 sacks on the puppies. I just got unnerved by CV comments. Wasn't trying anything

Getting unnerved by any of this is a little over the top. Save that for things that really count.

Don't sweat it....

it was one brief snipet from a much longer interview.

Venables later said that players like Vic Beasley and Stephone Anthony have shown no signs of letting up this summer.

To calm your nerves from TCI.

Venables did add that players like Vic Beasley and Stephone Anthony have shown no signs of letting up this summer.

Vic Beasley has arrived. He proved that on the field over and over again. Just sit back and enjoy what he brings to this team.

Some are men, Vic is one of the men.

I like how he outweighs Winston by 10 lbs or so.

Let's hope he can run him down.

I think he did not mention beasley as the leader because even though he is the most talented he doesnt have that type of personality. He is more of a quiet guy.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think you are right. Venables said he didn't just want

Jul 18, 2014, 9:30 AM

last years Vic he wanted a Vic that was even better. To be better you have to work even harder. I think Venables is saying that Vic needs to work harder to be a better player. In the end it improves his draft status and helps Clemson win and prosper.

NEVER think you have arrived. Stay hungry!

He arrived at quarterbacks in backfields all year last year. Here is to another season of Vic Beasley being fashionably early.

No.

Having met the guy several times, I don't even think he has the capacity to be selfish... One of the nicest/most humble players I've ever met.

In fact, if you ask me, I'd say he's hardworking and values the opportunity BECAUSE he wasn't a 4/5* guy and had to earn it over the years. Went from an afterthought to an anchor and I think he understands that.

Re: I want Vic to be "the Punisher"

Jul 18, 2014, 10:52 AM

I'm glad to hear that he is what he is touted to be. I think he is one of the best DE's I've seen play at CU. I want him to eat up Mason, and Crabman this year, heck, maybe he even needs to lay a shot on the Syracuse coach just for chits and
giggles.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

NOPE!

Jul 18, 2014, 11:55 AM

No way Vic gives up a guaranteed 2nd round pick (possibly first) to come back and hurt the team. Dude is hungry and Mason is gonna be the first bone!
