Does Steve Bannon get too much credit for Trump's appeal to

Nazi's and White Supremacists? Are you expecting a big change in Trump's approach to this constituency?

They were going to be attracted by populist nationalism

It's just an unfortunate fact that they agree with that part of Trump's agenda, even if they also hold lots of other execrable views. What I think Bannon did was convince Trump that the alt-right wasn't all bad, and that it was more of a movement against the establishment.

+1 for "execrable"... Don't often see it used.***

I don't think Bannon had to convince Trump of that.

Trump already held that view.

I don't think he even know anything about it

Aug 18, 2017, 1:38 PM

He just knows who supports him and who doesn't. He listened to Bannon's gloss on them, is my guess. Other than that, he's pretty much empty headed.

I agree he's an ignorant man lacking intellectual curiosity

to learn about those things he doesn't know anything about, but I don't think he pretends to be a racist for political gain, I think he really is one. His remarks Saturday and Tuesday further exposed his true thinking.

He didn't actually say anything racist, though

Aug 18, 2017, 1:44 PM

I don't know what you're talking about with him pretending to be a racist.

white supremacists wasn't racist?

There are many other examples throughout his life, but it's hard for his supporters to admit it, which I understand.

Not racist, just stupid and conspiratorial

Aug 18, 2017, 4:09 PM

People would've had the same conspiracy theories about other people with a similar family situation. It's not like people would've suspected just any black person's native birth.

Is this a parody account?

Aug 18, 2017, 5:08 PM [ in reply to the birther movement that made him a hero to nazi's and ]

You talk like a parody-account person.

I don't think that Trump and Bannon or racist per se

Aug 18, 2017, 6:43 PM

But I do think they are race-opportunists. If racial divide and hatred profits them, they're on board. - Steve Bannon
