Does Clemson need to rethink their OC?

Nov 6, 2022, 10:38 PM

Don't get me wrong, I respect Dabo and his decisions 100%....but I'm not the only one hearing in the surrounding communities, that Streeter may not be the man for the OC job, with the results everyone is witnessing? I'm new at this posting thing, so I'm sure this will ruffle somebodies feathers, hope not!

Dabo needs to rethink all of his "promote from within" hires

Nov 6, 2022, 10:50 PM

If you run the same offense and defense every year, people learn the weaknesses of it. You have to inject new blood. Going after Chad Morris and Brent Venables were home run hires. Goodwin and Streeter are flops. Dabo couldn't make a decision to promote Tony Elliott or Jeff Scott, so he did a dumb thing in making them "co OC's". We should've known then that his decision making skills weren't up to the task. Even though it ended up working, he still should've made a choice. What ended up happening was the good one left first and the other one took a job he clearly wasn't ready for while he still had a good reputation. You have to go out and test the waters. See who's interested in coming. After that, if hiring from within is still the better choice, then fine... But someone making $9M per year doesn't seem to want to be inconvenienced by doing an actual job search. ####! put the job opening on indeed.com and see who's looking.

Elliott is available now and Morris likely will be soon.

D/C is a little trickier.

I think Wes was great at doing his job for Brent but now that he is in charge he is in over his head.

First I'm hearing of this, but that's an interesting take.***
