Oh Lord yes! I love Homer, but the key of 81 was a smothering defense. DW had good help but he was the show. He fulfilled every expectation. Before him we had near elite teams that always had some ironic shortfall. With him we exceeded expectations and forced recognition as a contender and finally won it all in a textbook game. With the help of excellent coaching, we have changed the standard from Alabama SEC style power football with stacked 5 stars to multiple offense/spread/tempo. Alabama will always have deep talent so i'm not saying they are a belled cat, but we've shown one way to beat them because we did, and would have done it twice but for luck, a blown coverage and trick play. And Deshawn was the glue.
