On the coastal side of things, i will propably cheer for Vt against Gt, just because i only want to see Paul Johnsons hack blocks once a season.
I will cheer for FSU against non conference, but will not be happy until they have two losses in conference. One to us, so we have a path to the ACC Champ and BCS.

I pull for anyone in the ACC against GT. I pull for all ACC teams when they play out of conference. Want the "shortest midget" jokes to stop? Then the ACC teams need to whoop some a$$ out of conference. plain and simple. Hope the ACC starts tonight and continues rolling tomorrow! I'm not an ACC fan. I'm a CLEMSON TIGER FAN, but it helps us if we beat teams that are considered to be good.

If it's an OOC game then I want the ACC team to win. If it's Coastal vs Atlantic then I want the Coastal team to win. If it's Atlantic vs Atlantic then I want the team that's least likely to challenge us for the division title to win. If it's Coastal vs Coastal then I want the team that's least likely to challenge us for the championship to win.

...I'm going to see if cheering for the ACC actually helps Clemson in any way. 
But it all seriousness. It's a mentality. In the current system, it helps your team if your conference is strong against stron OOC opponents. So, it does make sense, but it will be tough to ever root for FSU or either Tech.

Not unless they're playing an SEC team. I hate watching those guys win because then they rub it in your face for 6 years. I hate FSU but if it is FSU and Bammer in the National Championship game I will be screaming my head off for the Criminoles... I mean Seminoles.

Yes. As soon as people realize that well-performing ACC teams vastly improve our own reputation (and the value of the ACC Championship)...and put their petty prejudices aside...we'll all be better off.

Personally I cannot stand hearing anyone (ESPN commentators, USC fans, etc.) bashing the ACC as being the "weak" conference in college football. So 9 times out of 10 I'll pull for an ACC team when they're up against an SEC team. Not that it matters in the end...you're a fool to think the great and powerful ESPN will EVER claim the SEC is anything but God's gift to mankind.
