Do we tackle during practice?

Anyone know? It seems we don’t based on game day performance. Could be lack of depth so protecting from injuries, or maybe a rule, but seems like UGA, Bama, and others might be tackling during the week and we aren’t.

When do you practice? And if you don’t know how should I know? Now Clemson does have practices where they tackle but I have been told not as much as they used too. Reason being NCAA restrictions on practice and trying to keep players healthy..

No more Paw Drills allowed per NCAA Regs which Dabo loved them to teach toughness and tackling. Not sure why a tackling sport would regulate how tackling practice was managed. Now they play Paw drills with tackling bags. No way a bag or ring is even close to tackling an athletic player.

Only Sammy Brown, TJ Parker and RJ Mickens. Hope coaches open it up in 2025.

Aveion Terrel is too small to hit

so is Khalil Barnes
an opponent running full speed at either of them would shatter their collar bones

and Wade Woodaz is more calculated and gets caught up trying to determine where to go as the opp is running by
then our secondary is too small and would get broken collar bones on any tackle attempts

The team practices tackling. Some players are better at it than others. It's not due to coaching or laçk of effort that some suck at it.

Anecdotal story about tacking during practice.

During the 90s when FSU was on it's run, Mickey Andrews was the DC. He was noted as being physical during practice. Every week, even during the season, they went full contact 1's vs. 1's, 2 vs. 2's for several periods one day during the week.
When Jimbo Fisher took over as OC he went to Bobby and said that due to injury possibility he didn't want to tackle to the ground during practice during the season.
Bobby asked Mickey if he could do that (what was his opinion) during practice.
Mickey said, "You're the head coach. I can do whatever you tell me to do. But, if we do that, you tell Jimbo they better score 2 or 3 more touchdowns every game than we are scoring now. That's how much it will affect our defense."
