Do we need a stimulus to compete with Coots..like IPTAY 2 ?
Oct 12, 2012, 11:11 AM

Just saying...when Coach Howard helped found IPTAY in 30's it got Clemson financially able to compete with the Big Boys..and in 1939 our Team went to its first Bowl game (Cotton) and upset favored BC 6-3 with their storied HC Frank Leahy (who went on to Notre Dame to make more history).
Today Clemson is behind many schools, including Coots, in making money from the TV & conference contracts.
So, do we need another inspired effort or booster program like the one that Coach Frank Howard helped instill for his TiGERs?!
What say you?
GoTiGERs!

Are scar's facilities better than ours?

We have two of the highest paid coordinators in the country. Our facilities are among the nation's best. How is money the issue?

Our facilities are much better than theirs....

You're just looking at their SEC payout. We bring in millions more through IPTAY than they do through the shamecocks club booster. In the Columbia area alone you see many more vehicles with IPTAY stickers than vehicle shamecocks club stickers. Seriously take your obsession with the coots to fgf. By the way that SEC payout has netted Auburn 2 straight losses to us

Gamecock Club brings in $10,000,000 more per year than IPTAY

As of 2011: Gamecock Club donations were $24,393,202 IPTAY donations were $14,171,740
Here's my source: http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/college/story/2012-05-14/ncaa-college-athletics-finances-database/54955804/1
Total income for 2011: South Carolina: $83,813,226 Clemson: $61,174,977
If you don't think $22,638,249 per year isn't going to make a difference you're fooling yourself. $22.6M a year is how you build a brand new baseball stadium, you buy land and build a huge new tailgate area, buy a new videoboard over twice the size of the one in Clemson, etc. Clemson is building an indoor practice facility? Whoopteedo! SC already has one and will build a new one within the next 5 years. You think it will be better than the one Clemson is building now? $22.5M says it will be.

With the way the economy currently is, trying to get more money from fans would be like trying to get blood from a turnip. I don't think the Clemson fanbase can compete with TV dollars. There just aren't enough of us.

Current ACC deal...17M
Current IPTAY revenue reported in donations.....20+M.
That number only accounts for part of the money IPTAY collects. I think we do just fine competing with TV dollars.
