Why doesn't the SEC swap Bama/Aub for Mizz/Vandy?

It makes more sense geographically and logistically. Bama can play LSU as a cross-over instead of UT (so both rivalry games PLUS the Iron Bowl are preserved). Auburn/UGA is preserved, allowing for a renewal of UGA/Ole Miss. Bama/Auburn won't have to worry about a rematch the next weekend in Atlanta.
The East get better and the West gets easier. As it stands now, nothing is to be gained for Bama or Auburn to even play in the SECCG - best case scenario, the West team escapes Atlanta without injury, but SOS will still drop.
Best of all, USuCk can truly measure themselves against legit teams. Albeit the SEC Title will still run through the state of Alabama without question.
Go Tigers! Here's to clinching the Atlantic and 10 wins for the 6th straight year on Saturday! When I was a freshman at Clemson in 2006, CTB was still head coach...so even 10 wins in one season alone was something I never thought I'd see. What a ways we've come in the past decade!

Tuscaloosa is farther west than Nashville.

You're right, but by only around 50-60 miles to the West.

Probably the same reason they refused to put UNCheat in our division and stuck us with two yankee teams. Relax, it's the travel to see a game not their rude mouths.

Because the east would then have 5 of the top 6 SEC programs in one division...
That doesn't make sense.

You can't base your division alignment on one or a couple seasons.
UGA, UF and UT are all better historically than A&M.
LSU would be the only top 6 program in the West.

Champions and Leaders divisions. You can't say the B1G isn't better for having Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State in the same division.
The ACC should switch to North/South, but is in a different boat because it would equate to the ACC and Big East divisions.
The SEC would greatly benefit from Texas A&M or LSU in the SECCG vs Bama or Auburn than any team currently from the East. It's been that way for years and it'll be that way for the foreseeable future.

Divisions will be obsoleted in the near future

Teams will simply play 9 game conference schedules rotating home and away games with every other team in the conference.
Conference champ game will be between the 2 highest rated teams from the play off committee.

I hate unbalanced schedules

I really would love to go back to 9 team conferences, or flash forward to 16 team conferences where divisions don't play each other. Unbalanced schedules just add more guesswork in getting to the title.
OR, make division record the first criteria for choosing a division rep fro conference championship games. At least that way what was being compared was much closer to equitable.

Agreed. At this point no way 14-team leagues go back to 9, but

16 teams works so much more smoothly. At which point it doesn't matter who is in what division; teams in each division are measured against the same competition and division records determine championship game representatives. The division champs are measured against each other without fear of an unappealing rematch.
