Dissolve the ACC

Why not dissolve the ACC, Big 12 & PAC 12, form a new super conference of all members. Then you will have a nationwide conference which should hold some clout for negotiating a new deal. This might force SEC and Big 10 to combine leaving 2 major conferences like the NFL model. Might be the ultimate solution.

exactly what I said. And since the ACC has the strongest of the remaining teams, they could rename the conference American Collegiate Conference (ACC) and have minimal rebranding.

Don’t want to sound like a pessimist but if the ACC survives how do they do it? This seems like the only option and if so would they even pull the trigger. Would love to be in a position where OU and Texas thought the ACC is a better option. With past decisions I am not optimistic the powers to be can navigate these uncertain times. We have wasted months since OU and Texas joined the SEC and thought an alliance would save the conference. IMO Clemson should have cut their losses months ago. Now it’s crunch time seeing other conferences are apparently working out tv deals with no Clemson in their conference. After the negotiations their paydays will be astronomical and why would you bring in any one else to make your piece smaller.

Does anyone know when these tv deals are set to be negotiated?

Ask the athletes and donors of the other 20 sports if they don't want to be a part of a conference. Football is king and pays the bills but is just a part of a conference or athletic department.

Hate to say it, but those 3 conferences merging with the teams left in them wouldn't be anything close to the conference the big/SEC would create if they merged. The tv deals would still be extremely uneven.
