Brad Brownell. But I have to finally give in to say he should officially be on a very hot seat right now. This team had high expectations coming into the season, and looking at the current AP Top 25 we are nowhere to be found. This is just unacceptable. I know there is still time to turn the season around, and I hope that happens, but that is a tall order when we play in the premier basketball conference in the country. I’m rooting for our coach and our players, but if this doesn’t get better we should seriously consider bringing Coach OP back.

I am not even sure the ACC is all that premier any longer. The SEC is clearly better and Big12 might be as well.
https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/college-basketball/no-longer-the-greatest-acc-basketball-has-fallen-victim-to-finances-expansion-and-its-own-bad-decisions/
"Muhammad Ali continued to refer to himself as “The Greatest” long after he wasn’t great anymore.
It’s the same delusion under which the ACC is currently operating when it tries to pass itself off as “the premier conference in college basketball.”
With just over a month remaining in the season, 8 of the league’s 18 members have losing records and are ranked 111th or worse in the NCAA’s NET rankings. The conference went 2-14 in the ACC/SEC Challenge and its overall nonconference winning percentage of .652 (129-69) is its worst since 1968-69."
https://orangefizz.net/2025/01/what-happened-to-acc-basketball/
"The ACC was the best conference in college hoops and it wasn’t even a debate. With Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, Louisville, and Syracuse it has without a doubt the most big-name programs. It showed on the court too as most of these teams were consistently in the top 25 and leading the nation. But over the past few years everything has changed and the conference I once loved has fallen off of a cliff. It gets frustrating to watch games in the ACC and teams in the conference routinely struggle mightily in non-conference play."
I believe its entirely possible for Clemson BBall to FINALLY win a title under Brownell. But if we don't this year, I am not sure we will anytime soon. The opportunity is there with only 1 team in the way, lets see if BB has the stones and gumption to guide the team to a title.

when deciding the fate of any Clemson program.
It isn't a coincidence that the SEC teams suddenly started getting better rankings when ESPN signed a gatrillion dolar deal with them.
Fork ESPN.

so I highly doubt he’d be interested in coming back after being treated that way.

guessing he would come back. And then we can get back to making the NCAA Tourney every year again. Those were the good ol days, and OP always had us in the top 25 every December and usually most of January.

I’m going to think on this some more, but with the resources we have currently allocated to basketball, just imagine what OP could do.
