I heard the entire field is now field turf. If true it’s strange I heard nothing about it on tnet.
Can anyone confirm?

NOT true. I saw them replace the sod back in April of this year. Shortly before the spring game if I recall.

The field is natural grass that is well maintained. Sections of the perimeter around the field is artificial turf.

Really, REALLY good at their job.
They know what they are doing and have mastered special mowing techniques to make the grass look spectacular.

there have been ongoing discussions for a few years about converting it to field turf. The university even conducted a cost analysis. Turns out, keeping the natural grass was less expensive.

After spending a large basket full of money, I think I recall someone saying the drainage system under DV will handle 4 inches of rain per hour.
