Different academic requirements between us and SCAR
Nov 26, 2012, 7:24 PM

Does anyone have the specific difference in academic requirements between us and SCAR? What about the differences between us and other ACC/SEC schools? I don't doubt that they exist, but I just don't know the specifics. What would have prevented Clowney from making it into Clemson?

Clowney was by all accounts a Gamecock fan, as i recall he could have attended Clemson if he'd so desired

Marcus is a thug. Dylan is a thug. Connnor is a thug.
There is almost no difference in the kids on each team. Clemson has some fantastic young men on their team. Carolina has some fantastic kids on their team.
Clemson has kids with problems that make poor decisions. Carolina has kids on the team that make poor decisions.
Generalizations are generally stupid

From what I understand, he was not enrolled in regular education classes for most of his high school years. Truthfully, he does not have the IQ and did not have the scores to be accepted at any 4 year university. If you will think back to his senior year, he did not have the grades to even graduate after 1st semester but his principal and athletic representative at the school guaranteed on signing day that he would have the grades to graduate. Can you imagine the pressure that put on his teachers 2nd semester?........Honestly, he should not even be playing ball because he should not be academically eligible - I'd be willing to bet that he can only read on an elementary level - sad......but hey, George Rogers could barely sign his name and couldn't read either....see the connection?

You think Clemson was not recruiting him?

Clemson recruited him, and would have gladly taken him had he committed. It is true his Mom liked Clemson over SC, but he wouldn't play in ACC. He just had an amazing game, stop bashing the kid.

There is ZERO difference difference in the academic requirements for a student athlete to attend either USC or CU.....ZERO.
BOTH teams have players that could not or would not be admitted as regular students.
The NCAA academic requirements are the same for both schools.

Playing this card makes us look all the more pathetic. We have alot of young men to be very proud of, but we also have young men that would not otherwise step foot on campus short of their athletic prowess. Every college in America has this to varying degrees.
