Yes he is one of the most accurate.
Has been updating the ACC situation, and did the same when he was correct about Oklahoma and Texas to the SEC.
Very reliable.

What's Georgia Tech's delay? In the heart of SEC territory and with UGA as their instate rival you would think they would be one of the first at the table.

Why would the SEC want GT? They are after one thing and that is TV ratings. GT cannot provide the ratings needed to move the needle.

Having two conferences in a state will increase viewership.
I hate to admit it, but I often take a peak at what S. Carolina gamecooks are doing in the SEC.
If not for the gamecooks I would hardly watch an SEC game.

Why would the SEC take the chance on the B1G planting their flag in Atlanta if by some chance this is some sort of merger between the ACC and SEC?

I think the value GT would add would be built-in longstanding rivalries with UGa, Auburn, Tennessee, and of course Clemson. Good matchups and rivalries drive TV viewers and social engagement.
But you’re probably right that it doesn’t add much for the SEC, but perhaps keeping the B1G out of Atlanta would be worth it to invite GT back into the SEC fold.

I thought the same about GTech…

The most likely answer is that GTech was not proactive in the behind the scenes to see where or if they could land at another conference.
I would assume they haven’t been discussing it and that they haven’t been invited by anyone yet.
Of course, I’m sure they’re on the phone now and I would assume they would be pretty attractive.

told they were in, but simply don't want to go public until it is a done deal. I have been hearing it will require 11 teams instead of 8 to bust the conference. Who knows? I have a feeling GT would be one of the first to be offered by the BIG so they can plant their flag right on Peachtree Street in the heart of SEC country. Preventing the BIG from doing that may be the only reason the SEC would take them back.

IDK. Both Auburn and Tennessee have played GT in football in recent years. Those were once huge rivalries. If the blood was that bad I don't think they would have agreed and scheduled those match ups.

I still think of the rivalry’s that could be created and that there already is. Auburn, Georgia, Clemson, even South Carolina. Awesome games if GTech can get their act together. I still think that’s a sleeping giant if they can ever get their fan base to care enough.
Not to mention does the SEC really want the Big 10 in their neck of the woods?
Also Atlanta and GA is one of the best recruiting areas.

Big12 is looking like it will turn into a very good football conference. If it gets AZ and Colorado it will own the west. Then throw in a few pac12 school s. Think they want the Vegas schools too. They are being very aggressive.

Why would ACC teams join the Big-12 when the new Big-12 deal still falls short of the ACC deal?

I'm thinking VPI, Looserville and Pitt will join BIGXII. They'd be right at home with their hillbilly cousins WVA anyway.

They have no other choice? I'm starting to believe that Clemson, FSU and Miami have made it known they are out regardless on whether they can get 8 teams to bolt together. Either way there will be a legal battle. It may be a deal where the teams drving this have told the lower tier teams if you join us we will find you a spot somewhere...all others, good luck.
