Did you notice that DJU took the knee at the end of the game

I was wondering why Dabo didnt let Cade take the victory snap. Was it an nod to DJ that hes still the guy? Seemed weird to me.

the victory formation, and even though chances of a snafu were minimal, they still exist. I get that it probably would have been just fine with Cade out there, but he had to be SUPER amped up at that point, better to have the more veteran, calm head in the game for that play.

Don't know the answer

But have we seen Cade take a snap from under center? Could simply be that DJ has practiced that with 1's much more than Cade, and that Dabo felt naturally more comfortable with him taking a snap from center for the kneel down.
Seems a likely scenario.

I remember someone asking Dabo why we had DW4 in the shotgun on short yardage against FSU and Dabo said Watson had never taken a snap under center in his life. Maybe Cade played in the same type of system???

Well, I "Don't know the answer" either. However, I agree with "LOL's" take on the situation, i.e., it seemed to be a "symbolic gesture of support and had nothing to do with DJ's experience."
All of Dabo's comments following the game seemed to support that DJ kneeling at the end were symbolic that DJ is still the QB and the Leader of the team. And all his comments since the end of the game support the same thing. Nothing is clearer to add meaning to his words than the symbology of DJ kneeling at the end of the game!
That's 'MHO" anyway! Guess someone should actually ask Dabo why it was DJ kneeling at the end of the game instead of Cade!

Benching Cade at the end of the game and reinserting d.j. was a clear sign to Cade that he should always consider near turnovers as benchable offenses and his near interception in the 4thQTR will not be easily forgotten. Dabo decided to QB kneel with a experienced QB who had ball protection on his mind from biscuit number 1 Saturday morning

Yes I DID. It made me a little angry. It made no sense. What did he do to deserve the victory formation? It looks like Dabo has to jump through hoops and do magic tricks to keep DJ from falling apart. Look at the postgame interview. No real mention of Cade, only a no no no there is no controversy here. DJ is our QB. It just feels off.

I noticed this when it happened and mentioned to those setting nearby that it was a great decision. I can guarantee you that DJ has much more experience/practice than Cade when it comes to taking a snap under center. If taking a snap under center was such a low risk play why do all teams in this situation place a player 10 yds back and have two other players surrounding the QB? Those two players around the QB are not there to protect the QB. They are there to fall on a miss handled snap, that's why they are facing inwards toward the QB and not outward to look for someone to block. To me it shows just how our coaching staff practices what it preaches, "take care of the little things because they matter as much as the big things". I can also guarantee you that in the few seconds that this decision had to be made the coaches were not thinking about DJs future mental state, they were only thinking about who is the best player for that situation.
