Did you notice how spaced out Tajh was after LSU game?!
Feb 22, 2013, 7:53 PM
|
|
Saying...he looked almost dazed when the awards were given out on the platform. Look at him when others were speaking and he really wasn't tuned in to what was being said.
Saying..the man had been a beast in saving our arses from being beat by LSU...he was completely exhausted since he & Nuk carried this team in the last part of the 4th quarter (his Dad had mentioned their special chemistry & all the hours they had practiced pitch & catch off-hours...and it showed Gentlemen in that game!).
In my 55 years of watching some very good Çlemson QB's..I've never seen one stand in there and do what Tajh did during that game..especially in the final minutes of the 4th quarter. What a warrior...one that decided to come back and even do more for himself & Çlemson.
Çan that be possible? We will see come late Åugust against UGa...and if he & his teammates equal the effort in the Çhick Bowl...then Tigernation will be electrified to no end.

Weak, no strength OL. We have got to do something to get stronger. It is the reason we have not one standout NFL ready linemen in years and years. But of course we have an award winning S&C coach, so must be something else.

with an agenda.
We have had strong members of offensive lines. You don't have to look beyond this last class with Dalton Freeman to see that. Our OL has done great, and another year or two with strong recruiting classes and we will have both great OL personnel, but also the depth necessary to make it lethal.

Good point. At Clemson I was friends witth a guy just like you discribe, smaller frame. With the tremendous weight training program we had back then and with the mental toughness instilled by the S&C coach (andHC) he was the center of the most famous NFL OL, small frame and all.

I'm pretty sure they were all referencing strength and perseverance of the QBs in both of those games, not the strength and conditioning of the OL. Frankly, you are the only one going to the notion that anything this thread was initially talking about had to do with Strength and conditioning. Sounds like you may have a bit of an agenda here...

We weren't a great program back then. We had come off two decades of mediocrity and were just getting back into the facilities arms race and starting to attract better recruits. Under Tommy Bowden, our OL recruiting strategy was to offer smaller, more mobile kids. That guaranteed we wouldn't be physical up front. It had nothing to do with Joey Batson.

Those guys run a website not a D1 S&C program.
They started bashing Dabo the day he was hired because he wasn't their pick. They have stuck their noses in every crack of Clemson football and bashed everybody and everything to the point they looked like morons when we trounced LSU's D, our D gave them 8 3 and outs and stopped their running game.
S&C was their last stand so give it a rest.

My contention is that Dabo had no choice in keeping
Feb 23, 2013, 12:14 AM
|

those two as long as he did. Did you notice the increase in coordinator's salary about the time he hired Chad? Do you think The Chad would have taken a paycut to come to Clemson? Do you honestly believe that Dabo didn't have to give up some of his salary to make his coordinators feel well paid/
I know you can't answer these question until you go and run all this by STS so I'll look for your response when you get back.
While you are over there ask them how many QBs stood in the pocket in a spread offense against LSU's d-line and didn't get their butts knocked off. Also find out what they think about our Offense playing 100 downs without cramping and dropping out like flies as did LSU's (SEC) defense.
They said our S&C program is lacking and they are too stubborn to admit that they are wrong. They have sheep who follow them blindly without recognizing that their disdain for Dabo taints their reason.

they didn't credit the S&C for our defense. It was Les Miles' ineptness and that we had their snap count apparently. They refuse to give any credit to the staff and players
Off topic, but they want Dabo to oversign and cut, yet disdainfully remark how Leggett "runs off" players. They will literally complain about everything.

I'm not arguing against STS.
Feb 23, 2013, 12:52 AM

It's their website and they can say what they want. Most of the time they don't look stupid. I really enjoy some of the break downs they do and I've learned a lot about the X's and O's of football from them.
I was critizing STS because they've tainted our fellowship here on T-Net with their disapproval of Dabo.
I understand getting mad when we lose a game. I can tolerate someone taking a shot at a player or coach when things go wrong but I can't handle someone who wants a Clemson coach fired without giving him a chance. Those guys got off Dabo ### because he proved them wrong by winning 11 games last season.
The S&C is their last holdout and I suspect it might take a NC trophy to shut their emotional azzes up.

You said "DS came around on Napier and Steele when he couldn't argue it anymore."
I said, and we all know, that he had to give some of his salary to hire them. He was limited in what Clemson money he could spend to hire the OC and DC. Do you think he went after the best with those limitations?
It's like this, you hire in a Hardees and expect IBM wages? It was our management that limited what Dabo could pay his coordinators so he gave them some of his money. Do you think Chad and Brent would have come to Clemson for the same money we paid Napier and Steel?
Answer that honestly. At least be honest with yourself about this. Dabo was given a chance but wasn't given the money.
If you are one of the holdouts against Dabo just tell me now and I'll hit the ignore button and stop wasting my time trying to share logic and reason. I've found when emotions clouds one's thinking there is no way to reason with them.
You are all over the spectrum with your contentions and I suspect this is your problem. You argue like a politician.
You change the subject when the conflict overwhelms you. Then lose another argument, change the subject again and lose another argument, then when the night is over you'll claim victory and go about thinking you've defended your position when most reasonable folks would have concluded their error.

Let try to clarify a few things.
Feb 23, 2013, 8:44 AM
|
|
First,, I am a Dabo fan in every way except his support of Batson. Second, I don't knit pick his decisions. Third, I just want us to play hard noised football. Fourth, When I watch us play, for the most part we don't have a lot of push off the ball on either side. And the majority of the time we get driven backward in different situation. Fifth, If you look at the body shapes and mussel tone of our players, something is not working. Last, If STS is a website, I have never been there.
Just want our guys to at least be on a level playing field, if not better.

QB efforts in Clemson QB history that I have seen. Rodney got beat up pretty bad in Columbia but Boyd and Whitehurst took more hits in vunerable throwing position. Rodney never even set up to throw plus we only threw 15-20 times back then. Whitehurst was Tex Tech bowl game for youngsters.
