don't know if I agree with that-- 25 is getting old-- unless

you are a 1st rounder(don't think he would be next year) the real money is in the 2nd contracts- the sooner you start playing in the NFL the better off you are--- with the changes made last year in the new collective bargaining agreement, more guys will be leaving early and they probably should. Believe he is about to or has graduated. Graduation for even a 3rd year guy is usually a non-issue anyway because you can have that the NFL team pay for you to finish at any point in your life written into the contract.

I reluctantly agree. I had no idea he was 24. That really changes stuff. He won't improve his game much in college from a strength standpoint, just in draft positioning. He's probably better off getting on the NFL workout routine and going from there.
Anyone know why he is older? Did we go to prep school or military or something?

etc. are ready to make their own marks. Sure would be good to have Dodd back, but his departure will not hurt too bad.

Why would the recruiting class get bigger?

We had 11 seniors and two juniors declared they would not return. 17-18 was always the estimate which included several players leaving for various reasons. Even if this were not the case I would doubt the coaches would use the ship on a lower rated player this year when they could get an elite player next year.

Did not know he was that old

It would probably make sense for him if he his grade comes back at 3rd round or better. NFL players have a very short lifespan and if he is a 26 year old rookie it would be a stretch for him to be able to advance much with another year of college.

Providing... PROVIDING he had a good combine; I can't see him doin' better, THIS DRAFT* Than a 3rd round grade....would be a mistake by Dodd, IMO. #21
